The Jaffna Kings (often abbreviated as JK) is a franchise cricket team that competed in 2022 Lanka Premier League (LPL). The team is based in Jaffna, Northern Province, Sri Lanka. The team was captained by Thisara Perera [3] and coached by Thilina Kandamby. [4] [5] In the final, they beat Colombo Strikers by 2 wickets, to win their third successive LPL title. [6]

In November 2021, he was selected to play for the Jaffna Kings following the players' draft for the 2021 Lanka Premier League.

The Kandy Tuskers is a franchise cricket team which competed in inaugural season of Lanka Premier League in 2020. The team is based in Kandy, Central Province, Sri Lanka, and owned by Bollywood actor Sohail Khan. In the 2020 season, the team was under the captaincy of Kusal Perera and coached by Hashan Tillakaratne.

The Galle Gladiators is a franchise cricket team which played in the inaugural season of the Lanka Premier League. The team is based in Galle, Southern Province, Sri Lanka. The team remained under the captaincy of Pakistani cricketer, Shahid Afridi, for the first three matches. However, due to an emergency, the captain left the league for the remaining matches of the tournament, and Bhanuka Rajapaksa assumed the captaincy. For the 2020 season, the team was captained by Dasun Shanaka and coached by Owais Shah. Based in Dambulla, Central Province, Sri Lanka, the team is owned by Bollywood film actor and producer Sachiin J. Joshi. In the inaugural season, it changed its name from Dambulla Hawks to Dambulla Lions, and ten days later again changed its name to Dambulla Viiking.

The ODI series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka were scrapped due to the hosting of this tournament. However, in July 2022, the tournament was postponed due to the economic crisis in Sri Lanka, with the aim to play it later in 2022. The tournament was later rescheduled and held from 6 to 23 December 2022. The tournament also emphasized to promote and boost both the economy and international tourism.

It began on 30 July and the final was held on 20 August 2023. The tournament was played by five teams in three international venues. The league was organized by the Sri Lanka Cricket. Jaffna Kings were the defending champions. This was the first Lanka Premier League season to feature an auction as the previous editions used to have the draft to choose players.

The B-Love Kandy is a franchise cricket team that competed in 2023 Lanka Premier League. The team is based in Kandy, Central Province Sri Lanka. They changed their name to B-Love Kandy after changing the owners. The team was captained by Wanindu Hasaranga and coached by Mushtaq Ahmed.
