Jaime Yvonne VandenBerg is a Canadian actress, international model, philanthropist and beauty pageant titleholder who won Miss Universe Canada 2025.
VandenBerg spent much of her childhood in Coaldale, where she attended primary school before graduating from the University of Lethbridge with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, concentrating in legal reasoning. [2] [3] Her academic journey led her to write the LSAT and recently apply to Law School. Driven by a desire to help others, her philanthropic efforts began at a young age. [4] [5] She is also interested in winter sports and plays the ukulele. [3] [6]
In 2021, after surviving gender-based violence in Colombia, she undertook an advocacy campaign to raise funds and awareness for women's shelters in Canada and Mexico. She received the Diana Award for her advocacy. [7] [8] [9]
In 2022, she co-founded Canadian Herstory, a non-profit focused on Canadian women's history, and received the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal for her community work. [9] [10]
In 2024, she launched Peaks for a Purpose under the Miss World Beauty with a Purpose program. [11]
VandenBerg withdrew from the Miss Earth 2018 pageant, citing sexual harassment during the competition. [12] [13] [14]
On 3 October, 2021, in Vaughan, Ontario, VandenBerg was crowned Miss World Canada 2021, and went on to represent Canada at Miss World 2023, where she placed among the Top 40 finalists. [15] [16] [17] [18]
On 9 August, 2025, in Windsor, Ontario, VandenBerg crowned Miss Universe Canada 2025. [19] [20] She represented Canada at the Miss Universe 2025 competition, and finished in the top 30. [21] [22] [23] [24] [25]
Prior to winning the title, she had previously competed in the Miss Universe Canada pageant twice, first in 2015 and again in 2020. [26] [27] [28] [29]
In the 2020 edition, she was named Miss International Canada. [30] However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent postponement of the Miss International pageant, she was unable to compete. [31]
