Jason Adam Griffith is an American actor. Best known for his voice acting work, he portrayed Sonic the Hedgehog and Shadow the Hedgehog for the 4Kids Entertainment English dub of the anime Sonic X , and reprised of both roles for Sonic the Hedgehog video games from 2005 to 2010.
His other voice roles for 4Kids Entertainment include Usopp in One Piece , and Brawly in Pokemon , among others. He parted ways with the company in 2010 and has since done voice work for NYAV Post and DuArt Film and Video. [3]
Jason Griffith was born in Lakeline, Ohio. [2] He graduated from the North High School in Eastlake, Ohio in 1999. [2]
Griffith began his acting career in 1997, at seventeen years old. [3] He made his feature film debut in the romantic comedy-drama film, Edge of Seventeen in an uncredited role as Scott. He also had an uncredited role as Cassius in the 2008 thriller film, Kill Kill Faster Faster . In television, he appeared in an episode of Blue Bloods as a man wearing a suit inside a red sportscar.
In 2003, Griffith began extensive work as a voice actor. He served as in-house voice talent for the children's television block 4Kids TV, which led him to voice many characters in various animated media including Tom Majors in Chaotic and Miyamoto Usagi in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles . He was also an occasional promotional announcer for the block, as well as for The CW4Kids and Toonzai. He also provided the voice of Bongo the Monkey in commercial advertising for Danimals.
Through his voice work as the titular character for the 4Kids English dub of Sonic X , Griffith was brought on by Sega to portray Sonic the Hedgehog (replacing Ryan Drummond), Shadow the Hedgehog (replacing David Humphrey), and Jet the Hawk in the mainline video games for the Sonic the Hedgehog series. The role began with 2005's Shadow the Hedgehog and ended with 2010's Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing , until role was thereafter succeeded by Roger Craig Smith in 2010. During this time, he was often credited as "Adam Caroleson". In addition, his role as Shadow was passed to Kirk Thornton, while his role as Jet was passed to Michael Yurchak. [4] [3] After he was replaced, he continued to voice Sonic in 4Kids promotions until 2014, when the program came to an end.
From 2011 to 2012, he starred in the web comedy series Casters as Cal. In 2015, he starred in the English dub of the animated children's series Super Wings. [5]

Shadow the Hedgehog is a character who appears in Sega's Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. He was created by Takashi Iizuka and Shiro Maekawa and first appeared in Sonic Adventure 2 (2001). Within Sonic's fictional universe, Shadow is an anthropomorphic black hedgehog created by Professor Gerald Robotnik, the grandfather of the series' antagonist Doctor Eggman. After witnessing the death of his best friend Maria Robotnik, Shadow initially seeks revenge, but later vows to keep his promise to her that he would protect the world from danger. An antihero, Shadow has good intentions but will do whatever it takes to accomplish his goals, putting him at odds with Sonic the Hedgehog.
Lisa Ortiz is an American voice actress and voice director. She is best known for her roles in English anime adaptations, such as Lina Inverse in Slayers and Amy Rose in Sonic X. She voiced the latter character in the mainline and spin-off Sonic the Hedgehog video games from 2005 to 2010. She has served as the voice director for the English dub of the Pokémon anime since 2016, in addition to performing various roles since the first season. In 2021, she reprised Tao Jun in the Netflix anime Shaman King.
Madeleine Joan Blaustein, also known as Kendra Bancroft, was an American voice actress and comic writer who was known for her voice acting work for 4Kids Entertainment, DuArt Film and Video and NYAV Post, for her reprising role as the character Meowth from the Pokémon anime series and for comics written for Milestone Comics, in which she introduced one of superhero comics' first transgender female characters. She was the first intersex and transgender voice artist for many of her respective agencies.
Michael Tremain Sinterniklaas is a French-born voice actor and ADR director based in the United States. He has provided voices for a number of English-language versions of Japanese anime films and television series, as well as cartoons and video games. Roger Craig Smith is an American voice actor. He is known for his voice roles in video games such as Chris Redfield in the Resident Evil series (2009–2017), Ezio Auditore da Firenze in the Assassin's Creed series (2009–2011), Kyle Crane in Dying Light (2015), and the titular character in the Sonic the Hedgehog series (2010–present).
