Shawn Corey Carter, known professionally as Jay-Z, is an American rapper, record producer, and entrepreneur. Widely regarded as one of the greatest rappers of all time, he has been central to the creative and commercial success of artists including Kanye West, Rihanna, and J. Cole. He is the founder and chairman of entertainment company Roc Nation, and was the president and chief executive officer of Def Jam Recordings from 2004 to 2007.

The instrumentation is based on programmed drums, bass instruments, and a flamenco guitar.
The Adventures of Mimi was a 2006 concert tour of arenas by American singer-songwriter Mariah Carey. It was the sixth concert tour of her then-sixteen-year career, and was named after a fan's "Carey-centric" diary of the same name, in addition to her album at the time, The Emancipation of Mimi. The bus tour started in late July and ended in October, with two stops in South Africa, twenty-five stops in the United States, seven in Canada, and seven in Asia. At the end of 2006, the tour placed 24th on Pollstar's "Top 100 Tours", earning $27.9 million with 32 shows from the North American leg.

The North America tour supports Blige's eighth studio album, Growing Pains (2007) and Jay-Z's tenth studio album American Gangster (2007). According to Pollstar.com the Heart of the City Tour grossed over $34.2 million, making it the most successful male-female hip-hop/R&B tour in history. The-Dream was the opening act for the tour, supporting his 2007 debut album Love/Hate.
The Jay-Z Fall Tour 2009 was a concert tour by American rapper Jay-Z in support of his eleventh studio album The Blueprint 3. The routing took the rap mogul to 18 cities in the U.S. and 7 in Canada, kicking off with a 9/11 benefit concert on September 9 in New York City and ending in Austin, Texas on November 22. It was announced in November 2009 that dates would be added for 2010, with Trey Songz and Young Jeezy joining Jay-Z as opening acts. The Jay-Z Fall Tour and its 2010 leg have also been referred to as The Blueprint 3 Tour.

On the Run Tour: Beyoncé and Jay Z is a 2014 concert special which documents the September 12 and 13, 2014, shows of American singers' Beyoncé and Jay-Z joint co-headlining venture On the Run Tour. Filmed at Stade de France in Paris, France, the special was directed by Swedish music video director Jonas Åkerlund and produced by HBO. It was broadcast on the channel on September 20, a week after the tour had finished. Prior to its airing, various trailers and short clips consisting of footage from the special were shared online. A video trilogy was filmed by photographer Dikayl Rimmasch and was scheduled to be released prior to the special's premiere; however, only its first part was posted online and removed from the Internet afterwards.
Jackie is the sixth studio album by American singer Ciara, and was released on May 1, 2015, through Epic Records. Following her departure from her previous record label, and the release of her self-titled fifth studio album, Ciara embarked on a hiatus in order to focus on her relationship with American rapper Future, which provoked Ciara to start work on her sixth album which was predominantly inspired by her then-fiancé. In May 2014, Ciara gave birth to her first child and shortly thereafter called off the engagement.
