Jean-Philippe Nil Step Krasso [1] (born 17 July 1997) is a professional footballer who plays as a forward for Ligue 2 club Paris FC. Born in Germany, he plays for the Ivory Coast national team.

Club career

Early career

Krasso moved to France in 2007 from Germany and starting playing football at IFR Châteauroux, before joining the academy of Lorient. [2] He spent his early career with Lorient B, Schiltigheim, and Épinal in the Championnat National 2.[ citation needed ]

Saint-Étienne

Krasso signed a three-year professional contract with Saint-Étienne on 28 May 2020. [3] On 24 July 2020, he made his professional debut with Saint-Étienne in a 1–0 loss to Paris Saint-Germain in the 2020 Coupe de France Final. [4] On 31 January 2021, he was loaned to Le Mans in the Championnat National, to progress his career. [5] On 27 January 2022, Krasso was loaned to Ligue 2 side Ajaccio, and helped the club achieve promotion to Ligue 1. [6] [7]

On 30 August 2022, Krasso scored four goals in Saint-Étienne's 5–0 home victory over Bastia, becoming the first to score four goals in a league match for the club in the 21st century. [8]

Red Star Belgrade

On 20 June 2023, Krasso joined reigning Serbian SuperLiga champions Red Star Belgrade on a free transfer. [9] He scored two goals on his debut on 30 July, a 5–0 home win over Vojvodina. [10]

International career

Krasso was born in Germany and is of Ivorian descent; He moved to France at a young age. He represented the Ivory Coast U20s at the 2017 Toulon Tournament. [11]

Krasso made his senior international debut for Ivory Coast in their 2–1 friendly win over Togo on 25 September 2022. [12]

Krasso was part of the victorious Ivory Coast side at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, [13] where he scored one goal in the group stage win over Guinea-Bissau. [14]

The 2023–24 Ligue 1 was the 74th season of the top-flight football league in Ivory Coast. It was won by FC San Pedro, with which they qualify for the CAF Champions League for the first time. Despite finishing 4th on the table, Racing d'Abidjan qualified for the CAF Confederation Cup, also for the first time, by virtue of with the 2023–24 Coupe de Côte d'Ivoire.
