Jeffrey Lee Harrigian [1] (born 1962) is a retired United States Air Force general who last served as the commander of United States Air Forces in Europe and Air Forces Africa from May 2020 to June 2022. He concurrently served as the commander of Allied Air Command and director of the Joint Air Power Competence Center. [2] He previously served as deputy commander and as commander of United States Air Forces Central Command. [3] Raised in Sparks, Nevada, he graduated from the United States Air Force Academy with a degree in International Affairs and was commissioned in 1985. [1] [4] He assumed his capstone assignment on May 1, 2019. [5]
Harrigian is of Armenian descent. [6] [7] Responding to a query about his Armenian heritage, Harrigian wrote: "My grandparents on my Dad's side came from the Yerevan area in Armenia." He also mentioned that he "grew up eating Armenian food almost every weekend in my Dad's parents' house”. [8]
Harrigian was commissioned in 1985 as a graduate of the United States Air Force Academy. He has served in a variety of flying and staff assignments, including Deputy Director for Strategy, Plans and Assessments, United States Forces-Iraq, in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and as Chief of the Joint Exercise Division at NATO's Joint Warfare Center, Stavanger, Norway. He has commanded at the flight, squadron and wing levels. He has flown combat missions in support of operations Just Cause, Desert Storm and Inherent Resolve. He served as Deputy Director of Operations (J3) at United States Central Command, MacDill Air Force Base, Florida. He also served as Director, F-35 Integration Office, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, the Pentagon, Arlington, Virginia. He is a command pilot with more than 4,100 hours in the F-22, F-15C, A/OA-37 and MQ-1.
Harrigian was Commander, United States Air Forces Central Command, Combined Force Air Component Commander United States Central Command, Southwest Asia, from 2016 to 2018. He was then appointed as the Deputy Commander, United States Air Forces in Europe-Air Forces Africa, Ramstein Air Base, Germany. As the air component to United States European Command and U.S. Africa Command, USAFE-AFAFRICA is responsible for providing full-spectrum warfighting capabilities to both combatant commanders throughout their area of responsibility, which encompasses 104 countries in Europe, Africa, Asia and the Middle East, the Arctic and Atlantic oceans and possesses more than a quarter of the world's population and world's gross domestic product.
On 25 March 2019, Harrigian was nominated for promotion to general [9] and assignment as commander of United States Air Forces in Europe – Air Forces Africa and director of the Joint Air Power Competence Center. [10]

Charles Albert Horner is a retired United States Air Force four-star general. He was born in Davenport, Iowa and attended the University of Iowa, as part of the Air Force Reserve Officers' Training Corps program. On June 13, 1958, Horner was commissioned into the Air Force Reserve. During the Vietnam War, he flew in combat as a Wild Weasel pilot and received the Silver Star. During Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm, he commanded the air forces of the coalition, and he additionally briefly served as Commander-in-Chief — Forward of United States Central Command while General Norman Schwarzkopf, Jr., the commander of all coalition forces, was still in the United States. He currently serves on the board of directors for the United States Institute of Peace.
Burton M. Field is a retired United States Air Force lieutenant general. Prior to retirement he served as the deputy chief of staff for operations, plans and requirements, Headquarters United States Air Force.
John K. McMullen is the Commander, 9th Air and Space Expeditionary Task Force - Afghanistan, Commander, NATO Air Command-Afghanistan, and the Deputy Commander-Air, U.S. Forces- Afghanistan. In these command roles, he oversees two NATO aerial ports of debarkation, two air expeditionary wings and two expeditionary groups consisting of more than 6,900 Airmen. He also advises and assists with joint expeditionary tasked/individual augmentee taskings in the Afghanistan combined joint operating area and ensures the optimal integration of air and space power in support of Headquarters ISAF and Operation Enduring Freedom missions. As the Commander, NATO Air Command-Afghanistan, he is responsible for developing the Afghan Air Force. In addition to these three command functions, Major General McMullen serves as the Central Command Combined Forces Air Component Commander's personal representative to the ISAF Commander as the Air Component Coordination Element liaison and also serves on the ISAF Joint Command staff as the Deputy Chief of Staff-Air.
Lori Jean Robinson is a retired United States Air Force general who served as commander of the United States Northern Command (USNORTHCOM) and commander of the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) from May 2016 to May 2018. She was the first female officer in the history of the United States Armed Forces to command a major Unified Combatant Command.

Charles Quinton Brown Jr. is a United States Air Force general who has served as the 21st chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff since October 1, 2023. Prior to his appointment, Brown served as the 22nd chief of staff of the Air Force from 2020 to 2023. Brown entered the Air Force in 1984 and served as a fighter pilot, where he has logged over 3,000 flight hours, including 130 hours in combat. Herbert Jay "Hawk" Carlisle is a retired United States Air Force four-star general who last served as the commander of Air Combat Command, at Langley Field, Joint Base Langley–Eustis, Virginia. He also previously served as the commander of Pacific Air Forces while concurrently serving as air component commander for United States Pacific Command and executive director of Pacific Air Combat Operations Staff, Joint Base Pearl Harbor–Hickam, Hawaii. He officially retired from the Air Force on May 1, 2017, with 39 years of service.
Jan-Marc Jouas is a retired United States Air Force lieutenant general. He served as the Deputy Commander, United Nations Command Korea; Deputy Commander, United States Forces Korea; Commander, Air Component Command, Republic of Korea/United States Combined Forces Command; and Commander, Seventh Air Force, Pacific Air Forces, Osan Air Base, South Korea. He was also the United States representative to the joint committee for the Status of Forces agreement between the two countries. He retired on February 1, 2015.

He was the Deputy Chief of Staff for Strategic Plans and Requirements at Headquarters United States Air Force in Washington, D.C., before he became the commander of Air Combat Command on March 10, 2017.
