John Michael Allen-Petrie OBE (born 5 July 1980), is a genealogist of Scottish Canadian extraction who, as a member of the British Royal Household, [1] serves as Windsor Herald at the College of Arms in London since 2019. [2]
Born in Canada to John Petrie, he attended Collège Jean-de-Brébeuf at Montreal, then Sciences Po in Paris, before pursuing further studies at LSE (MSc) and Oriel College, Oxford (MSc). [3]
An analyst with the Bank of England from 2008 until 2015, [4] Allen-Petrie joined the College of Arms as Rouge Croix Pursuivant in 2013, [5] [6] being promoted Windsor Herald of Arms in Ordinary in 2019. [7]
A Liveryman of the Drapers' Company, [8] he was elected a Common Councilman for Billingsgate Ward (2018–22). [9]
Allen-Petrie processed as Windsor Herald at the Coronation of Charles III and Camilla. [12]
