Jordan D. Teuscher is an American attorney and politician serving as a member of the Utah House of Representatives from the 44th district. Elected in November 2020,he assumed office on January 1,2021.
Teuscher was born in Salt Lake City and graduated from Riverton High School. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and philosophy from Brigham Young University and a Juris Doctor from the J. Reuben Clark Law School. [1]
Since graduating from law school,Teuscher has worked as an attorney. He completed an externship with the Area Legal Counsel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Kyiv,Ukraine. [2] He was also the chief operating officer of the Leavitt Institute for International Development and worked for the International Center for Law and Religion Studies. Teuscher currently works for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Teuscher was elected to the Utah House of Representatives in November 2020 and assumed office on January 1,2021. [3]

During the 2022 General Session,Teuscher served on the Business,Economic Development,and Labor Appropriations Subcommittee,the House Business and Labor Committee House Ethics Committee,and the House Political Subdivisions Committee. [4]
In 2022,Representative Teuscher proposed HB 234,which would require transparency and notice requirements for local education agencies and schools regarding curricula,class syllabi,and associated learning materials used for student instruction. This bill would also require schools to make learning materials to be made available and updated online with descriptions of associated learning materials for parent inspection. After receiving pushback from local educators and an online petition opposing the bill with more than 30,000 signatures,Teuscher dropped the bill for the 2022 Legislative Session. [5]

Stephen Harold Urquhart is an American politician and religious leader from Utah. A Republican,he was a member of the Utah State Senate,representing the State's 29th Senate district in Washington County from 2009 to 2016,and he served in the Utah House of Representatives from 2001 to 2009.
Michael D. Smigiel Sr. was an American politician who was a member of the Maryland House of Delegates,where he represented District 36,which covers Caroline,Cecil,Kent,and Queen Anne's Counties. He was first elected in 2002 along with fellow Republicans Richard Sossi and Mary Roe Walkup after the legislative boundaries were redrawn. Prior to 2002,District 36 had a separate representative for Cecil,Kent,and Queen Anne's Counties. After combining the districts,Smigiel won the seat previously occupied by former Elkton Mayor,James Crouse. Crouse was appointed to the seat in July 2001 following Governor Parris Glendenning's appointment of longtime Elkton Delegate Ronald A. Guns to the Public Service Commission. In 2006,he defeated Democratic challenger Mark Guns for reelection. In the 2006 election,the voting method returned to voting for a representative for each county.

Oregon Ballot Measure 54 (2008) or House Joint Resolution is a legislatively referred constitutional amendment that removed provisions relating to qualifications of electors for school district elections. The measure is a technical fix designed to remove inoperative provisions in the Oregon Constitution which barred those under 21 from voting in school board elections and required voters to be able to pass a literacy test to vote in school district elections. This measure appeared on the November 4,2008 general election ballot in Oregon. It was passed by voters,receiving 72.59% of the vote.

Same-sex marriage has been legal in Utah since October 6,2014. On December 20,2013,the state began issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples as a result of the U.S. District Court for the District of Utah's ruling in the case of Kitchen v. Herbert,which found that barring same-sex couples from marrying violates the U.S. Constitution. The issuance of those licenses was halted during the period of January 6,2014 until October 6,2014,following the resolution of a lawsuit challenging the state's ban on same-sex marriage. On that day,following the U.S. Supreme Court's refusal to hear an appeal in a case that found Utah's ban on same-sex marriage unconstitutional,the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals ordered the state to recognize same-sex marriage.
