KAMB (101.5 MHz, Celebration Radio) is a non-commercial, listener-supported FM radio station broadcasting a Contemporary Christian format. It is licensed to Merced, California, serving the Modesto-Turlock-Merced area of the Central Valley in Central California. It is owned by Central Valley Broadcasting Company, Inc. It has been a Christian radio station since its founding on November 4, 1967 . [2]
KAMB is a Class B FM station. It has an effective radiated power (ERP) of 1,850 watts. The transmitter tower is on a mountaintop in Mount Bullion, California, about 20 miles (32 km) northeast of Merced. [3] In addition, KAMB programming is heard on several FM translators in Central and Northern California.
Most of the day, KAMB plays Contemporary Christian music. There are Christian talk and teaching shows in early morning and evenings, including Focus on the Family with Jim Daly, Insight for Living with Chuck Swindoll, A Moment with Joni with Joni Eareckson Tada and Portraits of Grace with John MacArthur.
KAMB holds periodic fundraisers on the air and on its website. It calls itself "Celebration Radio." The studios are on East 16th Street in Merced.
In addition to the main station, KAMB is relayed by broadcast translators across the Northern California area.
