The 20661/20662 KSR Bengaluru - Dharwad Vande Bharat Express is India's 21st Vande Bharat Express train, connecting the city of Bengaluru with Dharwad city in Karnataka. [2] [3] [4] This train was flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 27 June 2023 via video conference from Rani Kamalapati (Habibganj) railway station. [5] [6] [7] As per latest updates, this VB express will continue its journey and will terminate at Belagavi (Belgaum) railway station at an earlier convenient date. [8] [9] [10]
On 21 November 2023, the trial run was performed by starting from KSR Bangalore City Jn around 05:45am and terminating at Belagavi at 01:30pm. It left from Belgaum at 02:00pm and reached Bengaluru City at 10:10pm. [11]
This train is operated by Indian Railways, connecting KSR Bengaluru City Jn, Yesvantpur Jn, Davangere, SSS Hubballi Junction and Dharwad. It will be operated with train numbers 20661/20662 on 6 days a week basis. [12] [13] [14]
It is the nineteenth 2nd Generation and the seventh Mini Vande Bharat 2.0 Express train which was designed and manufactured by the Integral Coach Factory at Perambur, Chennai under the Make in India Initiative. [15]
The 20661/20662 KSR Bengaluru - Dharwad Vande Bharat Express operates 6 days a week, covering a distance of 495 km (308 mi) in a travel time of 6 hrs 25 mins with an average speed of 76 km/h (47 mph). The Maximum Permissible Speed is 110 km/h (68 mph). [16] [17] [18]

Indian Institute of Technology Dharwad is an autonomous engineering and technology institute in Dharwad, Karnataka, India. IIT Dharwad started functioning from July 2016 in a temporary campus, previously of the Water and Land Management Institute (WALMI) in Belur Industrial Area, on the outskirts of Dharwad city. It was formally inaugurated on 28 August 2016. For the academic year 2016–2017, the institute offered B.Tech courses in three branches, namely. The Bangalore–Arsikere–Hubli line is a major railway line in the Indian state of Karnataka connecting state capital Bangalore with city of Hubballi in north-central Karnataka.
