The South East Central Railway (abbreviated SECR) is one of the 19 Railway Zones in India. The Zone Office is headquartered at Bilaspur and comprises the Bilaspur, Nagpur and Raipur Division.
This Zone was formerly part of the South Eastern Railway. It was inaugurated on 20 September 1998 and dedicated to the nation on 1 April 2003.
Bilaspur Railway Station is a regional hub for the system. It is the busiest junction in Chhattisgarh and the fourth-busiest in Central India for passenger trains. It is one of busiest junctions of Indian Railway due to heavy freight movements of coal,steel,cement from East India to West & North India. The junction is upgraded to handle quadruple (4th line) and triple (3rd line) between Jharsuguda - Bilaspur - Durg and Bilaspur - Katni.
The zone's major passenger stations are Netaji Subash Chandra Bose Itwari (NITR), Gondia (G), Bhandara Road (BRD), Dongargarh (DGG), Rajnandgaon (RJN), Durg Junction railway station (DURG), Bhilai Power House railway station (BPHB), Bhilai (BIA), Raipur (R), Bhatapara (BYT), Tilda (TLD), Bilaspur (BSP), Gevra Road (GAD), Janjgir Naila (NIA), Champa (CPH), Raigarh (RIG), and Anuppur (APR), most of which lie on the Mumbai-Howrah and Delhi-Katni-Bilaspur main lines. Bilaspur, Gondia, Durg, Anuppur and Raipur are the zone's major junctions. By 2007, SECR had added a third rail line between Durg and Raigarh.
By 2024 fourth railway line between Bilaspur and Jharsuguda will be operational. Fourth railway line between Bilaspur and Durg due to the heavy freight movement was approved in FY23-24 railway budget.
Bilaspur, also known as "The City of Festivals", is a city located in Bilaspur District in the Indian state of Chhattisgarh. Bilaspur is the Administrative headquarters of the Bilaspur District and Bilaspur Division. The Chhattisgarh High Court, located at Bodri, District Bilaspur has privileged it with the title Nyayadhani of the State. This city is the commercial center and business hub of North East Chhattisgarh region. It is also an important city for the Indian Railways, as it is the headquarters for South East Central Railway Zone (SECR) and the Bilaspur Railway Division. Bilaspur is also the headquarters of South Eastern Coalfields Limited. Chhattisgarh's biggest power plant operated by NTPC is in Sipat. PowerGrid in Sipat pools electricity from other power plants in region and transmits electricity to Delhi via one of longest HVDC line.

Anuppur Junction railway station is a railway station in Anuppur town of Anuppur district in Madhya Pradesh. The station code of Anuppur Junction is 'APR'. It has four platforms. The 12853 / 12854 Amarkantak Express is a daily Superfast Express train which runs between the Bhopal Junction railway station in Bhopal, the capital city of Madhya Pradesh and Durg, a city in Chhattisgarh state in central India. This train replaced the 8225/8226 Bhopal–Bilaspur Mahanadi Express along with the 8291/8292 Bhopal–Raipur Express and the 1235/1236 Bhopal–Jabalpur Express.

Janjgir Naila railway station is the railway station for Janjgir Naila city, the district headquarters of Janjgir-Champa district, Chhattisgarh, India. Its code is NIA. The station has four platforms which are not well sheltered. The station is on the Tatanagar–Bilaspur section of Howrah–Nagpur–Mumbai line with daily connections to Mumbai, Kolkata, Pune, Nagpur, Puri, Visakhapatnam Tatanagar Raipur and Ahmedabad. It serves Raigarh city and surrounding area like Ambikapur, Surguja, Dharamjaigarh, and Sarangarh where rail network is not there. The station consists of three platforms. The platforms are well sheltered. It lacks many facilities including water and sanitation.
