Maruthur Gopalan Ramachandran,popularly known by his initials M.G.R.,was an Indian actor,politician and philanthropist who served as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu from 1977 until his death in 1987. He was the founder and first general secretary of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam. On 19 March 1988,Ramachandran was posthumously awarded the Bharat Ratna,India's highest civilian honour. Jayakumar Jayavardhan known as J. Jayavardhan is an Indian politician and was a Member of Parliament elected from Tamil Nadu. He was elected to the Lok Sabha from Chennai South constituency as an All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam candidate in 2014 election. He completed his undergraduate studies at Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute and is a doctor by profession. Dr J Jayavardhan has become the youngest MP in India by winning the seat from South Chennai,Tamil Nadu at the young age of 26.
Tamilisai Soundararajan is an Indian politician belongs to Bharatiya Janata Party. She served as the second Governor of Telangana,and also served as Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry from 18 February 2021 to 18 March 2024. She was the National Secretary and Tamil Nadu State Unit President of the BJP prior to this appointment.
Madras Kadiravelu Saroja,was an Indian classical dancer,known for her expertise,as an exponent and as a teacher,in the classical dance form of Bharatanatyam. The Government of India honored her,in 2011,with the Padma Shri,the fourth highest civilian award,for her services to the field of art and culture.
