Ajit Bhalchandra Agarkar is a former Indian cricketer and a commentator. He is and has been the chairman of the BCCI selection committee since July 4,2023. He has represented India in more than 200 international matches across all three formats of the game. He is the third highest wicket-taker for India in One Day Internationals (ODIs) and has represented India in the 1999 Cricket World Cup,2003 Cricket World Cup,2007 World Cup and was member of the inaugural 2007 ICC World Twenty20 winning squad,along with one of the joint winners of the 2002 ICC Champions Trophy,which was shared with Sri Lanka.
Shane Robert Watson is an Australian cricket commentator and former cricketer who played for and occasionally captained the Australian national cricket team between 2002 and 2016. He was an all-rounder who played as a right-handed batsman and a right-arm fast-medium bowler. He was ranked as the world's No. 1 all-rounder in Twenty20 Internationals (T20I) for 150 weeks,including an all-time record of 120 consecutive weeks from 13 October 2011 to 30 January 2014. He began playing during the Australian team's golden era in the early 2000s,and was the last player from this era to retire. In his time playing for Australia,Watson was part of their winning squad in the Cricket World Cup two times in 2007,and 2015 along with the ICC Champions Trophy twice in 2006 and 2009,with Watson named as the player of the match in the final on both occasions,as he scored the winning run in the 2006 tournament,with the winning six in the 2009 tournament.
Pakistan toured West Indies for three ODIs and two Tests in May and June 2005. Pakistan got off to a great start in the warm-ups by beating the Antigua &Barbuda President's XI by 248 runs at Antigua and continued with a 59-run win in a low-scoring first match at St Vincent. The West Indian fans were to be disappointed again,though,as their team slumped to two successive losses in the ODIs at Gros Islet –losing the series 0–3,meaning that their home ODI record for 2005 read no wins,eight losses. They recuperated in the Tests,however,giving Pakistan eight and a half days of good cricket before imploding with the bat in the final innings to lose the second Test and thus having to settle with a drawn series,1–1.
A Tied Test is a Test cricket match in which the side batting second is bowled out in the fourth innings,with scores level. This is a very rare result;only two ties have occurred in the 2,494 Tests played since 1877. The first was in 1960 and the second in 1986. On both occasions,the aggregate scores of both sides (teams) were equal at the conclusion of play and the side batting last had completed its final innings:10 batsmen had been dismissed or,from the perspective of the side bowling,10 wickets had been taken. In other words,after four completed innings,with each innings ending either by a declaration or 10 wickets having fallen,the runs for both teams were exactly the same.
Ottis Delroy Gibson is a Barbadian cricket coach and former cricketer who played for the West Indies cricket team. From 2010 to 2014,Gibson was the head coach for the West Indies,where he led the team to be champions of the 2012 T20 World Cup. He has been appointed as Bangladesh bowling head coach and previously twice worked as bowling coach for England,from 2007 to 2010 and again from 2015 to 2017. Gibson also coached the South African cricket team from 2017 to 2019. He is currently the pace bowling coach of the Bangladesh national cricket team and Multan Sultans. In January 2022 Gibson was appointed the head coach of Yorkshire County Cricket Club,he is set to join the team after the conclusion of the 2022 Pakistan Super League season.

The 1954–55 Ashes series consisted of five cricket Test matches,each of six days with five hours play each day and eight ball overs. It formed part of the MCC tour of Australia in 1954–55 and the matches outside the Tests were played in the name of the Marylebone Cricket Club. The England team was captained by Len Hutton,the first professional cricketer to lead an MCC tour of Australia. The Australian team under Ian Johnson was confident of victory,but despite losing the First Test by an innings England won the series 3–1 and retained the Ashes. They were the only touring team to win a series in Australia between 1932–33 and 1970–71 and only the second of three touring teams to win a series in Australia from behind. The tour is best remembered for the bowling of Frank "Typhoon" Tyson,who was at the time regarded as the fastest,most frightening bowler ever seen in Australia. The series saw a phenomenal concentration of bowling prowess on both sides –four of the bowlers had career Test averages under 21,another five under 25 and the remaining four under 30. Unsurprisingly therefore,the ball dominated the bat for most of the series and each side only topped 300 in an innings twice. Unlike the following series in 1958–59 there were rarely any umpiring disputes and Keith Miller wrote "Mel McInnes,Colin Hoy and Ron Wright were our leading umpires in the 1954–55 M.C.C. tour of Australia,and I have no hesitation in saying that McInnes gave the finest exhibition of umpiring in a Test series that I have experienced".
The Ireland cricket team is the cricket team representing all of Ireland. Since 2017 they have been a Full Member of the International Cricket Council. Although Cricket in Ireland has had a presence since the early 1800s,it was in 1993 the Irish Cricket Union,the predecessor to Cricket Ireland,was elected to the International Cricket Council (ICC) as an Associate member. In the 1997 ICC Trophy,Ireland narrowly missed out on qualifying for the 1999 Cricket World Cup,which was ironically co hosted by Ireland,Scotland,England and the Netherlands. Ireland qualified for the World Cup for the first time in 2007,and has since played in the 2011 and 2015 tournaments,and the 2010,2012,and 2014 World Twenty20 competitions. Ireland's best performance was in 2007,where they surprisingly qualified for the Super 8 Stages.
