Keith Lloyd Thomas Arthurton (born 21 February 1965) is a former West Indian cricketer. Having become only the third player to hail from Nevis, the middle order batsman/left-arm orthodox bowler played in 33 Tests between July 1988 and August 1995 and continued playing in one day matches until May 1999. However,he never recovered from the 1996 World Cup,in which he scored two runs in five innings. Despite a strike rate of just 67,Arthurton was a good striker of the ball, favouring the leg side.
He was also a good bowler. He took three 4-wicket hauls in the shorter version of the game with a best of 4/31. Arthurton was also an excellent fielder. His best moments were reserved for the subcontinent,as he got scores of 84,63 and 44 off 30 balls in consecutive matches against Pakistan. In a match against India where the next highest score for West Indies was 16,Arthurton got 59 off 83. His best against them was 76 not out followed by 59 then 58 not out. This preceded 41 and 72 against them. Sri Lanka felt his presence as he got scores of 72 not out and then consecutive scores of 37 not out off just 31 balls with two sixes and a four and then 50 not out off 60 and then a 17 ball 24 not out. He rarely succeeded against England, though he had few memorable knocks against New Zealand and South Africa.
In Tests he got two hundreds and eight fifties. He had a best of 157 not out against Australia,a knock with 16 fours and a six.
Arthurton was involved in an unusual incident during a game between the West Indies Board of Control XI and the Australian national cricket team at Kensington Oval in Bridgetown,Barbados. Australian player Dean Jones believed that Arthurton was using an oversized cricket bat. The bat was found to be 4.5 inches wide, instead of the legal 4.25 inches, but he was allowed to continue to use the bat. [1]

He was the first Canberra-born player to represent Australia at international level. He was known for his ability to run between the wickets, score at a quick rate, rotate the strike, and for his ability to play shots down the ground with ease.

He stands third in the list of cricketers by number of international centuries scored. He holds the record for winning most ICC tournaments as a captain in Men's Cricket. Under his Captaincy Australia won the 2003 and 2007 Cricket World Cups and 2006 and 2009 Champions Trophies. He was also a member of the Australian team that won the 1999 Cricket World Cup.

Pakistan toured West Indies for three ODIs and two Tests in May and June 2005. Pakistan got off to a great start in the warm-ups by beating the Antigua &Barbuda President's XI by 248 runs at Antigua and continued with a 59-run win in a low-scoring first match at St Vincent. The West Indian fans were to be disappointed again, though,as their team slumped to two successive losses in the ODIs at Gros Islet –losing the series 0–3,meaning that their home ODI record for 2005 read no wins, eight losses. They recuperated in the Tests, however, giving Pakistan eight and a half days of good cricket before imploding with the bat in the final innings to lose the second Test and thus having to settle with a drawn series,1–1.
A Tied Test is a Test cricket match in which the side batting second is bowled out in the fourth innings, with scores level. This is a very rare result;only two ties have occurred in the 2,494 Tests played since 1877. The first was in 1960 and the second in 1986. On both occasions, the aggregate scores of both sides (teams) were equal at the conclusion of play and the side batting last had completed its final innings:10 batsmen had been dismissed or,from the perspective of the side bowling,10 wickets had been taken. In other words, after four completed innings, with each innings ending either by a declaration or 10 wickets having fallen, the runs for both teams were exactly the same.
Ottis Delroy Gibson is a Barbadian cricket coach and former cricketer who played for the West Indies cricket team. From 2010 to 2014,Gibson was the head coach for the West Indies, where he led the team to be champions of the 2012 T20 World Cup. The West Indian cricket team toured England from 13 May to 3 September 1995 as part of the 1995 English cricket season. The tour included six Tests and three One Day Internationals. The Test series was drawn 2–2 while the ODI series finished 2–1 to England. The first ODI match of the series was the 1,000th ODI to be played.
At the end of each ICC Cricket World Cup final tournament, several awards are presented to the players and teams which have distinguished themselves in various aspects of the game.
The England cricket team toured the West Indies in the 1993–94 season. The tour consisted of five Test matches and five One Day Internationals as well as five other matches against first-class opposition. The fourth Test of the series,at Bridgetown, was the 700th Test match to be played by England.
The West Indies cricket team toured Australia in the 1960–61 season under the captaincy of Frank Worrell. Both Worrell and his opposing captain,Richie Benaud, encouraged their teams to play attacking cricket. The first Test of the five match series ended in a dramatic tie,the first of only two instances in Test cricket. Though West Indies narrowly lost the series 2–1,with one draw in addition to the tie, they might easily have won both the last two matches and taken the series 3–1. They took much credit for contributing to such an exciting series and made themselves extremely popular with the Australian public. Prior to their departure from Australia, the team were paraded through Melbourne in open-top cars on 17 February 1961,and were cheered by enormous crowds.
The West Indies cricket team toured Australia in the 1984–85 season and played 5 Test matches against Australia. West Indies won the series 3–1 with one match drawn. The West Indies won the first three Tests quite easily against a very weak Australian team. Then captain Kim Hughes lost the captaincy due to his and the Australian Cricket Team's poor form after the Second Test and Allan Border took over. The Fourth Test at Melbourne ended West Indies' then world record of 11 consecutive Test wins as Australia held out for a draw. West Indies lost the Fifth Test by an innings at Sydney where Clive Lloyd played the last of his 110 Tests.
The West Indies cricket team toured Australia during the 1992-93 cricket season and played five Test matches against Australia. The two teams competed for the Frank Worrell Trophy, which the West Indies had held since 1978 and the series was sponsored by Benson &Hedges. West Indies won the series 2–1 with two matches drawn.
The 1954–55 Ashes series consisted of five cricket Test matches, each of six days with five hours play each day and eight ball overs. It formed part of the MCC tour of Australia in 1954–55 and the matches outside the Tests were played in the name of the Marylebone Cricket Club. The England team was captained by Len Hutton, the first professional cricketer to lead an MCC tour of Australia. The Australian team under Ian Johnson was confident of victory, but despite losing the First Test by an innings England won the series 3–1 and retained the Ashes. They were the only touring team to win a series in Australia between 1932–33 and 1970–71 and only the second of three touring teams to win a series in Australia from behind. The tour is best remembered for the bowling of Frank "Typhoon" Tyson, who was at the time regarded as the fastest, most frightening bowler ever seen in Australia. The series saw a phenomenal concentration of bowling prowess on both sides –four of the bowlers had career Test averages under 21,another five under 25 and the remaining four under 30. Unsurprisingly therefore, the ball dominated the bat for most of the series and each side only topped 300 in an innings twice. Unlike the following series in 1958–59 there were rarely any umpiring disputes and Keith Miller wrote "Mel McInnes,Colin Hoy and Ron Wright were our leading umpires in the 1954–55 M.C.C. tour of Australia, and I have no hesitation in saying that McInnes gave the finest exhibition of umpiring in a Test series that I have experienced".
The Ireland cricket team is the cricket team representing all of Ireland. Since 2017 they have been a Full Member of the International Cricket Council. Ireland qualified for the World Cup for the first time in 2007,and has since played in the 2011 and 2015 tournaments, and the 2010,2012,and 2014 World Twenty20 competitions. Ireland's best performance was in 2007,where they surprisingly qualified for the Super 8 Stages.
