Khaur is a town and union council in Pindigheb Tehsil of Attock District in Punjab Province of Pakistan. [2]
The major tribes of town are Chauhan, gheba, awan, zildar While the important family of khaur is MALIK LAL KHAN & Sons & Sardar Uzair Hayat Zildar’s family. Which are known as the Feudal, Ancestors, wadera of khaur. While in 90’s these Families owned around thousands of acres land area near small towns around khaur while main language is ghebi punjabi dialect of hindko, and most of the population is Sunni Hanfi shia wahabi Brailvi Muslim. The town is the first site of an oilfield in Punjab which operated from 1911 to the 1950s. The first commercial success came with the drilling of Khaur-1 by Pakistan Oilfields Limited in 1915, on a surface anticline in the Potwar Basin. Oil was discovered in sands in the lower part of the Miocene formation, and a total of 396 shallow wells were drilled in the field from 1915 to 1954. [4]
West Punjab was a province in the Dominion of Pakistan from 1947 to 1955. It was established from the western-half of British Punjab, following the independence of Pakistan. The province covered an area of 159,344 km sq, including much of the current Punjab province and the Islamabad Capital Territory, but excluding the former Princely state of Bahawalpur. Lahore, being the largest city and the cultural centre, served as the capital of the province. The province was composed of four divisions and was bordered by the state of Bahawalpur to the south-east, the province of Baluchistan to the south-west and Sind to the south, North-West Frontier Province to the north-west, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir to the north. It was dissolved and merged into West Pakistan upon creation of One Unit Scheme, in 1955.
Attock, formerly known as Campbellpur, is a city in Punjab, Pakistan, not far from the country's capital Islamabad. It is the headquarters of the Attock District and is 36th largest city in the Punjab and 61st largest city in the country, by population. Adhi, also spelt as Ahdi, (Urdu:آھدى) is a village and Union Council in Gujar Khan Tehsil, in the Rawalpindi District of Punjab, Pakistan. Ahdi is located about 70 km south of Islamabad in the Pothwar region and nearest city is Daultala. The village is rich in oil and natural gas reserves. Gas and oil exploration at Adhi began in 1956 and continued for a decade during which four wells were drilled. But all of them were abandoned due to insurmountable high pressure formation water inflows and subsurface complications. Even today, hot water flows from one of the bores in Ahadi, in which people wash their clothes and take bath. The field is owned by Oil & Gas Development (50%), Pakistan Petroleum (39%) and The Attock Oil (11%).

The Toot Oilfield is an oilfield located in Punjab Pakistan. It is located approximately 135 km (84 mi) southwest of the capital city of Islamabad. The field was discovered in the early 1960s. Pakistan Petroleum and Pakistan Oilfields explored the field in 1961, and in 1964 the first well was drilled. Commercial production started in 1967. There are about 60 million barrels (9,500,000 m3) of oil in place with 12%-15% of which is recoverable. At its peak during 1986, the field was producing approximately 2,400-barrel (380 m3) of oil per day.
