The Taiwan Solidarity Union (TSU) is a political party in Taiwan which advocates Taiwan independence, and is affiliated with the Taiwanese localization movement. It was officially founded on 12 August 2001 and is considered part of the Pan-Green Coalition. Unlike the Democratic Progressive Party, its larger companion party in the Pan-Green Coalition, the TSU actively campaigns for the creation of a de jure Republic of Taiwan. The future of the party is in doubt after the 2016 elections as the party failed to secure enough votes to be eligible for state funding.
Green Party Taiwan is a political party in Taiwan established on 25 January 1996. Although the party is sympathetic to Taiwanese nationalism and shares a number of centre-left positions with the Pan-Green Coalition, the party emphasizes campaigning primarily on social and environmental issues. The party is not a member of, and should not be confused with, the Pan-Green Coalition. Green Party Taiwan is a member of the Asia Pacific Greens Federation and participates in the Global Greens.
The Ministry of Labor is a ministry of the Taiwanese Executive Yuan administering policies relating to employees and labor. The MOL works with various international organizations and engages in bilateral exchanges to elevate the welfare of laborers in Taiwan, administering programs such as Labor Insurance.

The Taiwan Democratic Communist Party was a minor political party in Taiwan. It was founded on 1 October 2009 by Chen Tien-fu, cousin of former president Chen Shui-bian. The party's stated purpose was to create a distinct form of socialism in Taiwan and work towards unification with the People's Republic of China.
The Minkuotang (MKT), also known as the Republican Party, was a political party in the Republic of China (Taiwan). The party was established on 13 March 2015 by former Kuomintang legislative representative Hsu Hsin-ying, with the founding assembly held on 18 March 2015. It was part of the Pan-Blue Coalition and then merged with the newly-formed Congress Party Alliance in 2019.
Legislative elections were held in Taiwan on 16 January 2016 to elect all 113 members in the Legislative Yuan, alongside presidential elections. The Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) led by Tsai Ing-wen, who also won the presidential election on the same day, secured a majority for the first time in history by winning 68 seats. The ruling Kuomintang (KMT) lost both the presidency and its legislative majority and returned to the opposition.
Fangge Dupan was a poet of Taiwanese Hakka descent, renowned as a member of the "generation that straddles between languages." Born to a prestigious Hakka family in Xinpu, Hsinchu, she began writing as a teenager in high school. Most of her early work is written in Japanese because she was educated in that language. Due to political pressure, she stopped writing in Japanese and did not publish until the 1960s, in Mandarin. In 1965, she joined the Li Poetry Society with a strong emphasis on the sense of place, and in the 1980s she began actively creating Hakka poetry. In the late 1980s, Fangge Dupan turned to her native Hakka language.
The Chinese Unification Promotion Party, also known as the Unionist Party, is a minor far-right political party in Taiwan that promotes Chinese unification.
The Taiwan People's Party (TPP) is a centre-left political party in Taiwan. It was formally established on 6 August 2019 by Ko Wen-je, who serves as its first and current chairman. The party considers itself as an alternative third party to both the Democratic Progressive Party and Kuomintang.

The Taiwan Statebuilding Party is a political party in the Republic of China (Taiwan). The party was established in 2016 as Taiwan Radical Wings. The party is considered a rather close ally of the DPP, while fighting to replace opposition parties whom TSP unilaterally claims as “not loyal to Taiwan”, such as Kuomintang and TPP. In Taiwan’s 2024 Legislative Election, TSP failed to gain any seat in the Legislative Yuan and lost its status as a national political party.
The 2020 Kaohsiung mayoral by-election was held on 15 August 2020 following a successful recall attempt. The registered candidates were Chen Chi-mai representing the Democratic Progressive Party, Li Mei-jhen representing the Kuomintang, and Wu Yi-jheng representing the Taiwan People's Party. Chen Chi-mai won the by-election by a landslide margin with slightly over 70 percent of the votes. He replaced acting mayor Yang Ming-jou on 24 August 2020.
Nguyễn Kim Hồng, a Vietnamese-Taiwanese documentary filmmaker, was raised in rural province in Vietnam, alongside nine siblings. Dropping out of primary school to support family of agricultural workers, she later moved to Taiwan at the age of 21 after marrying a Taiwanese. Facing domestic abuse, Nguyễn divorced and sustained herself through various jobs. In 2008, she crossed paths with Tsai Tsung-lung, a documentary maker, from whom she learned photography. They not only became life partners but also collaborated in their careers. Nguyễn's documentaries, highlighting the injustices faced by immigrants, have earned recognition in the Taiwanese film industry.
For Public Good Party, or For All Mankind Equality Party, is a Chinese nationalist right-wing political party in Taiwan. Advocating Chinese unification, the party was elected to local council and as township mayors.
Ann Kao Hung-an is a Taiwanese business executive and politician. She earned bachelor's and master's degrees from National Taiwan Normal University and National Taiwan University, respectively, before working as a researcher for the Institute for Information Industry. The institute subsidized Kao's doctoral study at the University of Cincinnati. She then worked for Foxconn until 2020, when she was elected to the Legislative Yuan as a member of the Taiwan People's Party (TPP). Partway through her legislative term, Kao was elected Mayor of Hsinchu during the 2022 local election cycle. On 26 July 2024, Kao was removed from office and withdrew from the TPP due to corruption allegations.
