Lachnaia is a genus of leaf beetles in the subfamily Cryptocephalinae, tribe Clytrini. Multiple species in this genus are known to be myrmecophiles, such as the larvae of L. italica. [1]
The insects of the beetle family Chrysomelidae are commonly known as leaf beetles, and include over 37,000 species in more than 2,500 genera, making up one of the largest and most commonly encountered of all beetle families. Numerous subfamilies are recognized, but the precise taxonomy and systematics are likely to change with ongoing research.
Neochlamisus is a genus of leaf beetles in the tribe Fulcidacini. They are members of the case-bearing leaf beetle group, the Camptosomata. Measuring 3–4 millimeters in length as adults, they are cryptic, superficially resembling caterpillar frass. Seventeen, sometimes 18 species are presently accepted in this genus, all of them occurring in North America.
The Fulcidacini, sometimes known as the warty leaf beetles, are a tribe within the leaf beetle subfamily Cryptocephalinae, though historically they were often treated as a distinct subfamily, Chlamisinae. 11 genera with altogether about 400 species are currently placed here; some four-fifths of the species are found in the Neotropics, but the rest is distributed over all other continents except Antarctica.
The Clytrini are a tribe within the leaf beetle subfamily Cryptocephalinae, though historically they were often treated as a distinct subfamily, Clytrinae. As the other Cryptocephalinae, they belong to the group of case-bearing leaf beetles known as Camptosomata.
The Cryptocephalinae are a subfamily of the leaf beetles (Chrysomelidae), and belong to the group of case-bearing leaf beetles called the Camptosomata.
Anomoea is a genus of leaf beetles in the subfamily Cryptocephalinae. The name is frequently confused with the tephritid fly genus Anomoia, due to historical confusion over precedence.
Lachnaia italica is a species of short-horned leaf beetles belonging to the family Chrysomelidae, subfamily Clytrinae.
Lachnaia caprai is a species of leaf beetles from the subfamily Cryptocephalinae. It is native to Sicily.
Lachnaia paradoxa is a species of leaf beetles in the subfamily Cryptocephalinae. It can be found in Algeria, Morocco, and south Spain.
Lachnaia cylindrica is a species of leaf beetles from the subfamily Cryptocephalinae. It is found on the Iberian Peninsula and in southern France, southern Italy, on Sicily and in Algeria.
Lachnaia sexpunctata is a species of leaf beetles from the subfamily Cryptocephalinae. It is found from north-eastern France to Turkey and from north to southern Germany and Slovakia.
Lachnaia hirta is a species of leaf beetles from the subfamily Cryptocephalinae. It is found in northwest Africa, on the Iberian Peninsula and in southern France, southern Italy and on Sicily.
Lachnaia pubescens is a species of leaf beetles from the subfamily Cryptocephalinae. It is found from North West Africa to the Iberian Peninsula, South France, Corsica and Sardinia.
Cryptocephalus trimaculatus is a species of cylindrical leaf beetle belonging to the family Chrysomelidae, subfamily Cryptocephalinae.
Smaragdina is a genus of short-horned leaf beetles belonging to the family Chrysomelidae, subfamily Cryptocephalinae.
Clytra is a genus of short-horned leaf beetles belonging to the family Chrysomelidae, subfamily Cryptocephalinae.
Labidostomis is a genus of short-horned leaf beetles belonging to the family Chrysomelidae, subfamily Cryptocephalinae.
Saxinis is a genus of case-bearing leaf beetles in the family Chrysomelidae. There are at least 10 described species in Saxinis.
Coleorozena is a genus of case-bearing leaf beetles in the family Chrysomelidae. The group is largely composed of species that were originally placed in the genus Coscinoptera; some authorities have suggested placing these species back into Coscinoptera but the most recent revisions prefer to retain it as a separate genus.
Oomorphus is a genus of leaf beetles in the family Chrysomelidae. There are about 18 described species in Oomorphus.
