Lamprospilus is a Neotropical [1] [2] genus of butterfly in the family Lycaenidae. [1] [2] [3] They occur in wet and dry lowland and montane forests from Mexico to central Argentina. [2]
Lamprospilus have sexually dimorphic wing patterns, to the extent that males and females have sometimes been first described as different species. [2]
