Background

In 2019, Del Rey embarked on the Norman Fucking Rockwell! Tour. [1] After Del Rey became sick, the tour's last eight shows in Europe were cancelled and the tour came to an abrupt end. [2] Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Del Rey was unable to tour for 2021's Chemtrails over the Country Club and Blue Banisters albums.

On March 24, 2023, Del Rey released her ninth studio album, Did You Know That There's a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd, which received generally positive reviews from critics. The album debuted at number one in the UK and gave Del Rey her biggest US debut week since Honeymoon in 2015. [3] [4] [5] Preceding the release of the album, Del Rey had been announced as a headliner at Brazil's Mita Music Festival in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, her first concert since 2019. [6] Throughout early 2023, Del Rey revealed dates for further shows throughout North America and Europe, including headlining shows at the Glastonbury, Lollapalooza, and All Things Go festivals. [7] [8]

On August 21, 2023, Del Rey announced 10 additional shows in the United States for the following month and October. [8] Within days, the shows had completely sold out and tickets were only available via secondary markets. [9]

In April 2024, Del Rey resumed performances with a headlining slot at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. Following the performance, she announced her first-ever stadium concert at Fenway Park in Boston, which took place on June 20. [10] The sold-out show garnered criticism from some fans for going ahead despite being delayed due to a thunderstorm and thus shortened to follow local sound curfew ordinances. [11] Throughout the summer, Del Rey performed at additional festivals throughout Europe, including Primavera Sound in Spain [12] and the Reading and Leeds Festivals in England. [13]
