Latitude (formerly Venture Orbital Systems) is a French rocket manufacturing company developing the Zephyr rocket.
The company was founded in 2020 and is located in Reims. In June 2022 it had closed a €10 million Series A funding. [1] In January 2024, the company has raised $30 million for producing it's rockets. [2] [3] In June 2024, Latitude has been awarded €15 million by the French government. [4] It inaugurated its micro-launcher factory in Reims on 19 October 2021. [5] A micro-launcher named Zephyr is currently under development. Its first flight is scheduled for the end of 2025. [6]
TeamIndus is a private for-profit aerospace company headquartered in Bangalore, India. It consists of a team of professionals from various backgrounds in science, technology, finance, and media, that came together in 2010 with the aim of winning the Google Lunar X Prize competition announced in 2007. In 2022 it has raised €1.1 million to develop its rocket. In 2024 as part of a consortium it has raises €35 million to develop their launcher Orbital Baguette One, 60 percent of the funding from the French government - as the winner of the France 2030 program supported by the State. Baguette One is 7 metres tall, single-stage, with a payload capacity of 300 kilograms. The first suborbital mission is planned for 2026. Orbital Baguette-1 (OB-1) - 16 metres tall - is a micro-launcher with a payload of 250 kg to 400 km LEO . The hybrid engine use solid fuels in combination with a liquid oxidizer and doesn't need a turbo pump. On 11 July 2024 it was completed with success the first hot fire test of its Terminator hybrid rocket motor.
Dark is a space company from Paris, France, specialized in space security and protection, founded in 2021. It develops an air-launched rocket named Interceptor, intending to capture space debris or spy satellites. Interceptor will be launched from a plane in flight from anywhere on the planet and will be capable of deploying payloads of up to 300 kilograms into LEO. As of April 2024 the company has raised over $11 million to develop its Interceptor platform. In 2023, it signed a partnership agreement with Bordeaux Airport. The first launch, from France, is planned for 2026.
