Augusta is the capital city of the U.S. state of Maine and the seat of Kennebec County.
Kennebec County is a county located in the South-central portion of the U.S. state of Maine. At the 2020 census, the population was 123,642. Its county seat is Augusta, the state capital. The county was established on February 20, 1799, from portions of Cumberland and Lincoln Counties. The name Kennebec comes from the Eastern Abenaki /kínipekʷ/, meaning "large body of still water, large bay."
Sabattus is a town in Androscoggin County, Maine, United States. The population was 5,044 at the 2020 census. It is included in both the Lewiston-Auburn, Maine Metropolitan Statistical Area and the Lewiston-Auburn, Maine Metropolitan New England City and Town Area. The town was formerly known as "Webster", and changed its name to "Sabattus" in 1971, in honor of a former Anasagunticook Indian chief. The village of Sabattus is in the northwest corner of the town, at the outlet of Sabattus Pond.

Alum Creek is a census-designated place (CDP) in Kanawha and Lincoln counties along the Coal River in the U.S. state of West Virginia. It includes the unincorporated communities of Alum Creek, Forks of Coal, and Priestley. The CDP had a population of 1,749 at the 2010 census, down from 1,839 at the 2000 census.
Perkins Township is an unorganized territory in Sagadahoc County, Maine, United States. Originally incorporated as the town of Perkins, it was later abandoned, and has been uninhabited since the 1940s. The township comprises Swan Island, Little Swan Island and some tidal flats—all within the Kennebec River between the towns of Richmond and Dresden. The Swan Island Historic District comprises most of the township, with 8 buildings, 5 structures and 1,500 acres (610 ha). Some of the buildings date to the 1750s. The district was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1995. The entire township is now protected as the Steve Powell Wildlife Management Area, and is under the jurisdiction of the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife. Camping, hunting, fishing, and wildlife viewing are permitted between May and October; reservations are required.
The Kennebec River is a 170-mile-long (270 km) river within the U.S. state of Maine. It rises in Moosehead Lake in west-central Maine. The East and West Outlets join at Indian Pond and the river flows southward. Harris Station Dam, the largest hydroelectric dam in the state, was constructed near that confluence. The river is joined at The Forks by its tributary the Dead River, also called the West Branch.
There are a number of wind power projects in the state of Maine, totaling more than 900 megawatts (MW) in capacity. In 2020 they were responsible for 24% of in-state electricity production. In 2019, Maine had more wind capacity than the other five New England states combined, at 923 MW.

The Dyer River is a 20.2-mile-long (32.5 km) river in Maine. It originates along the northern boundary of the town of Jefferson with the town of Somerville and flows southwesterly through Jefferson, passing through Dyer Long Pond and near South Jefferson. It continues southwest into the town of Newcastle, passing the villages of North Newcastle and Sheepscot, where it joins the tidal Sheepscot River.
The Gardiner Public Library is the public library of Gardiner, Maine, and the surrounding communities of Farmingdale, Litchfield, Pittston, Randolph, and West Gardiner. The present library was built in 1881 and designed by architect Henry Richards. In 1930 the R.P. Hazzard wing was added to become the Children's Room, but was later converted to a Reading Room. In 1960 the J. Walter Robinson Reference Wing was added, and in 1977 the Burress Moore, III Children's Room was created using the second floor of the library, which had originally been designed as a public hall known as Library Hall. The Children's Room renovations were finished in 2008. The Community Archives Room was established in 1985 in the basement level of the library. It was renovated in 2016 and serves as the community's local history and genealogy center.
The American Lighthouse Foundation (ALF) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 1994 with a primary mission of lighthouse preservation. ALF's main office and storefront are headquartered in Rockland, Maine, and the organization currently has thirteen chapters that have stewardship responsibility over the following twenty-two lighthouses in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island:

Winthrop is a census-designated place (CDP) comprising the primary settlement in the town of Winthrop in Kennebec County, Maine, United States. The population was 2,650 at the 2010 census, out of 6,092 in the town of Winthrop as a whole.
Wiscasset is a census-designated place (CDP) comprising the primary settlement in the town of Wiscasset in Lincoln County, Maine, United States. The population was 1,232 at the 2020 census, out of 3,732 people in the entire town. Wiscasset is the county seat of Lincoln County.
The Pearl Harbor Remembrance Bridge, is a steel girder and concrete bridge that crosses the Kennebec River between Gardiner and Randolph, Maine. It carries Maine State Routes 9, 126, and 27. It was built in 1980 to replace an older truss bridge several hundred yards downstream. The bridge was given its current name in 2001 to honor the 60th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor.
Gardiner High School, also known as Gardiner Area High School (GAHS), is a public school serving grades 9–12 in Gardiner, Maine in the United States. Tigers are the school mascot. In 2016, the school had a graduating class of 136.
