Liberal Party (Spanish : Partido Liberal), was a political party in Peru. It was founded in 1901 by Augusto Durand Maldonado. [1]

His Vice-presidents were the conservative Augusto Samuel Boyd and Ezequiel Fernández Jaén, the maximum leader and founder of the National Revolutionary Party. He died being President of the Republic of Panamá and was briefly succeeded by Ezequiel Fernández Jaén who was his second vice-president while the first one, Augusto Samuel Boyd, left Washington where he was acting as Panamanian ambassador, came to Panamá.

The Grand Orient of Portugal is a symbolic Masonic Obedience founded in 1802, thus being the oldest Portuguese Masonic Obedience. Its first Grand Master was Sebastião José de São Paio de Melo e Castro Lusignan, grandson of the first Marquis of Pombal, and his symbolic name was Egas Moniz.

Nicolás Augusto Durand Fernández-Maldonado was a Peruvian politician and agricultural businessman. He became popular for organizing revolutions against various governments of the so-called Aristocratic Republic, leading armed groups. He was a deputy in several periods, and presided over his chamber in 1895–1896. He was also founder of the Liberal Party (1902) and director of the newspaper La Prensa in Lima.
