The Kitzbühel Alps are a mountain range of the Central Eastern Alps surrounding the town of Kitzbühel in Tyrol, Austria. Geologically they are part of the western slate zone.

Virgen is a municipality in the district of Lienz in the Austrian state of Tyrol. It includes part of the Virgen valley in the Venediger Group mountain range, and extensive parts of the municipality are in High Tauern National Park. The history of the area goes back to 500 BC, when copper mining played an important role. After the end of the Roman period Slavs settled in the Virgen valley, who were gradually assimilated by Baiuvarii settlers beginning in the 8th century. The simultaneous Christianization of the area led to the creation of one of the first parishes in the region. During the middle ages Virgen was a part of Carinthia and the County of Gorizia, and by 1500 it was annexed by Tyrol. With a population of 2,200, Virgen is the fifth largest community in east Tyrol in terms of population. Agriculture and tourism both play important economic rolls, but a lack of jobs and structural problems lead to a very high commuter rate. Virgen has won awards for being the most beautiful municipality in Tyrol several times.

The Dreischusterspitze is a mountain of the Dolomites in South Tyrol, Italy. It is the highest peak of the Sexten Dolomites and the most northerly 3,000m peak of the range. From the north it resembles a majestic pyramid, while from the east and west it resembles a jagged ridge. The mountain is located above the village of Sexten. It was first climbed in 1869 by Paul Grohmann, Franz Innerkofler and Peter Salcher.
Creta Forata is a mountain of the Carnic Alps that lies on the border of Veneto and Friuli, northeast Italy, with an elevation of 2,462 m. It is located near the village of Sappada in the Piave Valley. Formed of limestone, it is the highest mountain of the eastern Terza - Siera Group and boasts a twin summit. It is of a similarly rugged nature as the Dolomites to the west.
The Villgraten Mountains or Deferegg Alps, also called the Defreggen Mountains are a subgroup of the Austrian Central Alps within the Eastern Alps of Europe. Together with the Ankogel Group, the Goldberg Group, the Glockner Group, the Schober Group, the Kreuzeck Group, the Granatspitze Group, the Venediger Group and the Rieserferner Group, the Villgraten Mountains are part of the major mountain range, the High Tauern. Their highest summit is the Weiße Spitze with a height of 2,962 m above sea level (AA).
The Gailtal Alps, is a mountain range of the Southern Limestone Alps in Austria. It rises between the River Drava (Drau) and the Gail valley and through the southern part of East Tyrol. Its western group called "Lienz Dolomites", is sometimes counted as part of this range and sometimes seen as separate.
Hohe Gaisl, (3,146m) is a mountain in the northern Dolomites, on the border of South Tyrol and Veneto, in northern Italy, located between the Braies Valley and the Val di Landro.
Trogkofel is a mountain of the Carnic Alps lying on the border of Friuli, Italy and Carinthia, Austria. It is located on the main ridge of the Carnics between the Aip Valley to the south and the Gail Valley in the north, and is the second highest mountain on the eastern ridge after Gailtaler Polinik. The mountain is known as Crete Rosse, meaning Red Rocky Mountain in Friuli.
Cima Bocche is a mountain of the Dolomites in Trentino, Italy. It is the highest peak of a small group that is located between the San Pellegrino Pass and the Predazzo valley. The mountain has a vertical 400m north face, whereas its southern slopes are far more gentle, making it an easy climb from this direction. Despite being geographically part of the Dolomites, the mountain is not geologically part of the range, as it is formed of Porphyry rather than dolomite.
The Reißkofel is, at 2,371 metres above the Adriatic (7,779 ft), the highest mountain of the Gailtal Alps east of the Lienz Dolomites. It is situated in the centre of the Gailtal range, part of the Southern Limestone Alps, in the Austrian state of Carinthia.
Sasso di Bosconero is the highest mountain of the Bosconero Range, a subgroup of the southern Dolomites in Veneto, Italy. It appears as a giant pyramid that hangs over the Zoldo Valley, near the town of Longarone. It was first climbed in 1878 by Cesare Tomè and Gottfried Merzbacher along with local guide Santo Siorpaes.
Marmarole is a mountain group of the Dolomites in Belluno, northern Italy. Located west of the Cadore Valley and north-east of the major peak of Antelao, it is known as a wild range, possibly the wildest of the entire Dolomites, due to the relative difficulty of climbing its peaks and its isolation from nearby valleys. Conversely, it is a popular destination for experienced hikers and alpinists.
The Reißeck, also Großes Reißeck is, at 2,965 metres above the Adriatic (9,728 ft), the highest peak of the Reißeck Group in the High Tauern of Carinthia, Austria. The range forms the southern part of the larger Ankogel Group with its highest summit, the Hochalmspitze, separated by the col of Mallnitzer Scharte at 2,673 m (8,770 ft). The mountain also gives its name to the Reißeck municipality, located to the south in the Möll valley.
