The series follows Mayday Parker / Spider-Girl, on developing spider-powers and learning her father Peter Parker to be the retired Spider-Man, as she swears to follow in her father's web-tracks, finding herself having the absolute time of her life as she hones the abilities she inherited. The bad news? Some of her roughest, toughest battles of her life lie ahead: against the likes of Ladyhawk, the current Kingpin of Crime Black Tarantula, Mr. Nobody, Crazy Eight, and Mayday's own parents, seeking to restrict her crimefighting schedule to make time for school rather than skipping out as her father used to, before Peter eventually agrees to train her, along with Darkdevil and Phil Urich. [6] [7] [14] The backup storyline The Last Days of Spider-Man explores how Peter Parker lost his leg, leading to his retirement as Spider-Man.
Like Father, Like Daughter received generally good reviews. [5] [6] [7] [8] [9] [10] [11] [12] [13] [15]
