Season of the Serpent is a graphic novel written by Tom DeFalco, drawn by Pat Olliffe and Ron Frenz, and published by Marvel Comics 2 as the tenth volume of the American comic book series Spider-Girl , following Mayday Parker / Spider-Girl, the daughter of Peter Parker / Spider-Man and Mary Jane Watson, as she faces romance issues and becoming an older sister as her mother prepares to give birth, dealing with her possible half-sister and the new Scarlet Spider Felicity Hardy (the daughter of the Black Cat), while facing down Seth, the Egyptian God of Death, and his Soldiers of the Serpent. Prologue One, Seize the Day!, was released October 2, 2002; Prologue Two, An Invisible Girl!, was released November 6, 2002; Part One was released December 4, 2002; Part Two, Rising Storm!, was released January 2, 2003; Part Three, Three Minutes!, was released January 15, 2003; Part Four, Call of Thunder, was released February 5, 2003; Part Five, Daddy's Girl!, was released March 5, 2003; and Part Six, Proof of Life!, was released April 2, 2003. Preceded by Secret Lives and intended as the final storyline of Spider-Girl (the series having been cancelled then un-cancelled following fan backlash), [2] it is followed by the story arc Marked for Death . The series follows Mayday Parker / Spider-Girl, sworn to follow in her father's web-tracks, as she finds herself dealing with her possible half-sister Felicity Hardy (daughter of her father's ex-girlfriend Felicia Hardy), who seeks to become the new Scarlet Spider.
