The Limnophorini are a tribe of flies, belonging to the family Muscidae. Although the name-giving genus is Limnophora , this was actually described only after the more characteristic and easily recognized Lispe .
Genera are: [1]
The Anthomyiidae are a large and diverse family of Muscoidea flies. Most look rather like small houseflies. Most species are drab grey to black. Many Pegomya are yellow, and some members of the genera Anthomyia and Eutrichota are patterned in black-and-white or black-and-silvery-grey. Most are difficult to identify, apart from a few groups such as the kelp flies that are conspicuous on beaches.
Muscidae are a family of flies found in the superfamily Muscoidea.
Muscinae is a subfamily of the family Muscidae. It includes two of the more familiar genera within the Muscidae family; Musca and Stomoxys.
The Coenosiinae are a subfamily of true flies, belonging to the family Muscidae.
Euryomma is a genus of species of flies of the family Fanniidae. The genus was originally proposed by the entomologist Paul Stein in 1899. Although at that time most authorities placed them in the family Muscidae. The distribution of Euryomma is mainly Neotropical, on the whole restricted to the Americas, there is also one Nearctic species, the exception being of the very cosmopolitan E. peregrinum
Muscini is a Tribe of flies from the family Muscidae.
Phaonia is a very large genus from the fly family Muscidae. It is distributed worldwide, with more than 750 species having been described.
Phaoniini is a tribe in the fly family Muscidae. It contains the largest Muscid genus Phaonia.
Limnophora is a genus of flies, belonging to the family Muscidae. The flies are characterized by silver bands across their thorax. The tribe Limnophorini is named from the genus.
The Mydaeinae are a subfamily of true flies, belonging to the family Muscidae.
Azeliini is a tribe of flies from the family Muscidae.
Reinwardtiini is a tribe of flies from the family Muscidae.
Stomoxyini is a tribe of flies from the family Muscidae.
Coenosiini is a tribe of flies from the family Muscidae.
The Cyrtoneurininae are a subfamily within the Diptera family Muscidae.
Lispe is a genus of true flies belonging to the family Muscidae.
Polietina is a genus within the Diptera family Muscidae.
Philornis is a genus of around 50 species of fly from Central and South America. Their larvae are subcutaneous parasites of nestling birds. They are sometimes referred to as "bot flies", though they are not related to true bot flies.
Bithoracochaeta is a genus of house flies, in the family Muscidae. There are about 13 described species in Bithoracochaeta.
Neodexiopsis is a genus of house flies, insects in the family Muscidae. There are at least 80 described species in Neodexiopsis.
