Veolia Transport was the international transport services division of the French-based multinational company Veolia until the 2011 merger that gave rise to Veolia Transdev, later renamed Transdev. Veolia Transport traded under the brand names of Veolia Transportation in North America and Israel, Veolia Transport, Veolia Verkehr in Germany and with the former name Connex preserved in Lebanon, Melbourne and Jersey.

Originally created as Société centrale pour l'équipement du territoire in 1955 and developing transportation activities since 1973, Transdev was a subsidiary Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations, a French state-owned financial institution. On 3 March 2011, the group merged with Veolia Transport, one of its main competitors, into Veolia Transdev. During 2013, Veolia Transdev was renamed Transdev, recognising the planned withdrawal of Veolia Environnement from ownership of the group.

These towns, located east Montreal along Quebec Route 116, receive both local service and commuter runs to Exo stations that serve Montreal. The communities served are: Beloeil, McMasterville, Mont-Saint-Hilaire, Otterburn Park, Saint-Basile-le-Grand, Saint-Hyacinthe, Sainte-Madeleine, Sainte-Marie-Madeleine. Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville was formerly a ninth CITVR member municipality, but despite leaving the system, it continues to benefit from the service.

The Exo Chambly-Richelieu-Carignan sector was formed in 1984 to provide public transit service to the communities of Chambly, Richelieu and Carignan. This area is in southwestern Quebec, Canada, about 25 kilometres (16 mi) east of Montreal on the Richelieu River. In 1993 it was agreed to expand service to St-Mathias-sur-Richelieu, and in 1994 it was the turn of Marieville to join.
The Exo Le Richelain sector is the public transportation system for the municipalities of La Prairie, Candiac and Saint-Philippe, which are suburbs lying southeast of Montreal in Quebec, Canada. Originally the communities around Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu were included but the town now has its own public transit system which serves that area. The sector merged with the Exo Roussillon sector when the Réseau express métropolitain opened on July 31, 2023.

The company started out in 1965 by providing student transportation for school boards in the Quebec City area, and has progressed into providing intercity bus service, public transit, paratransit, airport shuttles and coach charters. Expansion within the province has seen them establish subsidiaries in the regions of Outaouais, Lanaudière, Montérégie, Estrie, Centre-du-Québec, Chaudière-Appalaches, Capitale-Nationale and Gaspésie.
Intercar is the second largest interurban bus carrier within the province of Quebec, Canada, and one of the largest providers of school buses. The company was founded in 1959 in Jonquière, but expanded greatly in 1990 with the acquisition of Voyageur's routes in the Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean region and the North Coast of the Saint Lawrence River. The next step in the evolution of the Intercar Group, already well established in student transportation in Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean, was the launch of school bus services in the area around Quebec City. Further expansion of their interurban routes to Sept-Îles meant that by 2001 they dominated those services in the triangle between Sept-Iles, Dolbeau and Quebec. Throughout the early part of this century they have continued to acquire more school transportation companies and further grow their charter service.
