The Lindesnes Region (or Mandal Region) is the metropolitan region surrounding the town of Mandal in Southern Norway. The region has no governmental functions, but it encompasses five municipalities in Vest-Agder county, primarily covering two large river valleys: Mandalen and Audnedalen. The region is Norway's southernmost region and it borders the Kristiansand Region to the east and the Lister Region to the west.

Mandal was the southernmost municipality in all of Norway, with the tiny skerry of Pysen being the southernmost point of land in Norway.

The total combined area of Vest-Agder and Aust-Agder counties is 16,493 square kilometres (6,368 sq mi). The name is relatively new, having first been used in Norway around 1900.

The European route E39 highway runs east-west through Vigeland, connecting it to the town of Mandal, about 12 kilometres (7.5 mi) to the southeast. The 1.19-square-kilometre (290-acre) village has a population (2015) of 1,471 which gives the village a population density of 1,236 inhabitants per square kilometre (3,200/sq mi). Prior to 1 January 2020, the village was the administrative center of Lindesnes municipality.

Ryvingen Lighthouse

Ryvingen Lighthouse is a coastal lighthouse located on the 0.4-square-kilometre (99-acre) island of Låven in the North Sea. It is the southernmost lighthouse in Norway. It is located in the municipality of Lindesnes in Agder county. The island lies about 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) southeast of the town of Mandal, marking the east side of the fjord leading to Mandal. The west side of the fjord is marked by the Hatholmen Lighthouse.

Mandalselva

Mandalselva or Mandalsåni or Marna is a river in Agder county in Norway. The river has its origins in the mountains between Ose in Setesdal and the Upper Sirdal valley. The river flows south to its mouth at the North Sea at the town of Mandal. The river is 115 kilometres (71 mi) long and flows through the municipalities Åseral, Lyngdal, and Lindesnes. The largest tributaries are Monn, Logna, Skjerka, Kosåna, Logåna, and Røyselandsbekken. Skjerka, Monn and Logna all flow into the lake Øre in Åseral which is considered the beginning of the main Mandalselva river. The river passes through the villages of Kylland, Bjelland, Laudal, Heddeland, Øyslebø, and Krossen.

Mandal is a town in Lindesnes municipality in Agder county, Norway. Mandal is the fourth largest town in Agder as well as the administrative centre of Lindesnes municipality. It is located at the mouth of the river Mandalselva at the southern end of the Mandalen valley. The 6.63-square-kilometre (1,640-acre) town has a population (2019) of 11,053 and a population density of 1,667 inhabitants per square kilometre (4,320/sq mi). In Norway, Mandal is considered a by which can be translated as either a "town" or "city" in English.

Laudal is a former municipality located in the old Vest-Agder county in Norway. The 93-square-kilometre (36 sq mi) municipality existed from 1899 until 1964. Hatholmen Lighthouse

Hatholmen Lighthouse is a coastal lighthouse in the municipality of Lindesnes in Agder county, Norway. The lighthouse sits on the tiny island of Hattholmen, about 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) south of the town of Mandal. The lighthouse marks the western side of the Mannefjorden which runs north to the town of Mandal (the Ryvingen Lighthouse marks the eastern side of the fjord.
