This is a list of player signings and releases involving Super Rugby teams prior to the end of the 2014 Super Rugby season. The release of a player that was included in a 2013 Super Rugby season squad, or the signing of a new player for the 2014 season is listed here regardless of when it occurred. Players that have been confirmed for the 2014 season are also listed, regardless of when they signed for the team.
Australian and New Zealand teams name their squads for the 2014 season – typically containing 30 players – in late 2013. Many sides also name additional players that train in backup or development squads for the franchises. These players are denoted by (wider training group) for New Zealand teams, or (extended playing squad) for Australian teams. In South Africa, all teams have affiliated provincial sides playing in their domestic Vodacom Cup competition.

Mark Gerrard is a former Australian professional rugby union footballer. He currently is the assistant coach for the Austin Gilgronis in Major League Rugby (MLR) competition in the United States. In 2011, he was one of 10 players nominated to become the competition's Super Rugby player of the year.
The Melbourne Rebels is an Australian professional rugby union team based in Melbourne with teams in the Super Rugby Pacific and Super Rugby Women's competitions. The Rebels made their debut in SANZAR's Super Rugby tournament in 2011. The club shares its name with a former Australian Rugby Championship team, but is unrelated. The team plays home matches at AAMI Park.
Colby Fainga'a is an Australian professional rugby union player who plays for Lyon in the Top 14.
Cameron "Cam" Crawford is an Australian professional rugby union player who plays for the Rebels in Super Rugby as a full back.
Luke Jones is a former Australian rugby union footballer. His regular playing position is either lock or flanker. He represents Racing 92 in the French Top 14 competition, having previously played for the Melbourne Rebels and the Western Force in Super Rugby.
The 2014 Super Rugby season is the fourth season of the 15-team format for the Super Rugby competition involving teams from Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. For sponsorship reasons, this competition is known as Asteron Life Super Rugby in Australia, Investec Super Rugby in New Zealand and Vodacom Super Rugby in South Africa. Including its past incarnations as Super 12 and Super 14, this is the 19th season for the Southern Hemisphere's premier transnational club competition. The conference games will take place every weekend from 15 February until 12 July, followed by the finals series, culminating in the grand final on 2 August. The winners of the 2014 Super Rugby Season were the New South Wales Waratahs.
The 2014 New South Wales Waratahs season was the club's 18th season since the inception of Super Rugby in 1996. The Waratahs defeated the Crusaders in the final at ANZ Stadium, Sydney to be crowned champions for the very first time.
The Southern Kings participated in their first ever Super Rugby competition in 2013. They won three, drew one and lost twelve of their matches during the regular season to finish fifth and last in the South African Conference and fifteenth and last on the overall log. Their top try scorer in the competition was Wimpie van der Walt, who got six tries, and their top points scorer was Demetri Catrakilis, who scored 142 points. As a result of finishing bottom of the South African Conference, they had to play a two-legged promotion/relegation play-off series against the Lions. The Lions beat them 44–42 on aggregate to return to Super Rugby in 2014 at the expense of the Kings.
