Coventry City Football Club is a professional football club based in Coventry, England. The team currently play in the Championship, the second tier of the English football league system. The club is nicknamed the Sky Blues because of the colour of their home strip.
Terry Ian Butcher is an English football manager and former player. He works as an academy coach for Ipswich Town.
Philip George Neal is an English retired footballer who played for Northampton Town, Liverpool and Bolton Wanderers as a full back. He is one of the most successful English players of all time, having won seven First Divisions, four League Cups, five FA Charity Shields, four European Cups, one UEFA Cup and one UEFA Super Cup during his eleven years at Liverpool. He later returned to Bolton Wanderers as manager, leading them to victory in the Football League Trophy before spells managing Coventry City, Cardiff City and Manchester City.

George William Curtis was an English association footballer who played in the Football League as a defender for Coventry City and Aston Villa. He made 543 appearances for Coventry between 1956 and 1969, the club's record for an outfield player, winning the 1963–64 Third Division and the 1966–67 Second Division titles and also playing in the First Division from 1967 until 1969. With Aston Villa, he was part of the side which won the 1971–72 Third Division.

The 2016–17 season is Coventry City's 133rd season in their existence and fifth consecutive in the English third tier, League One. Along with competing in League One, the club participated in three cup competitions: FA Cup, EFL Cup and EFL Trophy.
The 2018 EFL League Two play-off Final was an association football match played on 28 May 2018 at Wembley Stadium, London, between Coventry City and Exeter City. The match determined the fourth and final team to gain promotion from EFL League Two, English football's fourth tier, to EFL League One. The top three teams of the 2017–18 EFL League Two season gained automatic promotion to League One, while the teams placed from fourth to seventh in the table took part in play-off semi-finals; the winners of these semi-finals competed for the final place for the 2018–19 season in League One. Exeter finished in fourth place while Coventry ended the season in sixth position. Lincoln City and Notts County were the losing semi-finalists.
The 2022–23 season is the 139th season in the existence of Coventry City Football Club and the club's third consecutive season in the Championship. In addition to the league, they will also compete in the 2022–23 FA Cup and the 2022–23 EFL Cup.
The 2022–23 Women's Championship season was the fifth season of the rebranded Women's Championship, the second tier of women's football in England.
