This is a list of former and current managers of Crewe Alexandra Football Club. Since 1892, 29 men have managed Crewe; Ernie Tagg had two spells in charge, and Dario Gradi four (including one spell co-managing with Steve Holland). Gradi holds the record for the most games: 1,359 first team games. [1]
Two Crewe managers have been inducted into the English Football Hall of Fame: Gradi in 2004 [2] and Harry Catterick, posthumously, in 2010. [3]

Crewe Alexandra Football Club is a professional association football club based in the town of Crewe, Cheshire, England. Its first team competes in League Two, the fourth level of the English football league system. Nicknamed 'The Railwaymen' because of the town's links with the rail industry, and also commonly known as 'The Alex', they have played at their current Gresty Road location since 1906. The supporters' fiercest rivalry is with Staffordshire-based side Port Vale.
Dario Gradi is an Italian-English former football player, coach and manager. He was associated for more than 36 years with Crewe Alexandra, where he was variously manager, director of football and director of the Academy, until October 2019.
Dean Ashton is an English former professional footballer. He made over 240 appearances as a forward in the Football League and Premier League for Crewe Alexandra, Norwich City and West Ham United, and was capped by England. He was highly praised as a talented centre forward, but had a career frustrated by injury. He retired on 11 December 2009, aged 26, after failing to recover from a long-term ankle injury sustained during international duty with England.
Harry Stafford (1869–1940) was an English footballer who played a principal role in the formation of Manchester United Football Club. Born in Crewe, Cheshire, Stafford became a locomotive boilermaker employed by the London & North Western Railway (LNWR) at the expansive Crewe Works.

Stephen Roy Macauley is an English former professional footballer, who played primarily as a central defender. He began his career at Manchester City as a trainee. After a brief spell at local Fylde coast side Fleetwood Town, he joined Crewe Alexandra in March 1992 for a fee of £25,000. He went on to spend ten years at the South Cheshire club under manager Dario Gradi.
David Walton is an English retired footballer who is remembered for his exploits at Shrewsbury Town and Crewe Alexandra where he made over 250 league appearances for both clubs.

The sexual abuse scandal at Crewe Alexandra F.C. concerned child sexual abuse by former football coach Barry Bennell while employed at English professional football club Crewe Alexandra in the 1980s. While Bennell had been convicted for sex offences in the US in 1994 and in the UK in 1998, fresh allegations were made in November 2016, initially relating to Crewe Alexandra and Manchester City. The scandal then rapidly extended as allegations were made about numerous other abusers at many other UK football clubs. The Football Association, football clubs and police forces quickly established various inquiries and investigations; by July 2018, 300 suspects were reported to have been identified by 849 alleged victims, with 2,807 incidents involving 340 different clubs.
