The Pretty Cure Series, also known as PreCure and PC, is a Japanese magical girl anime franchise created by Izumi Todo and produced by Asahi Broadcasting Corporation, Asatsu-DK and Toei Animation. Each series revolves around a group of magical girls known as Pretty Cures who battle against evil forces. Starting in February 2004 with Futari wa Pretty Cure, the franchise has seen many anime series, spanning over 700 episodes to date, as well as spawning movies, manga, toys, and video games. Its most recent iteration, Healin' Good PreCure, began airing in February 2020 as part of TV Asahi's Sunday morning children's television block. To date, four series have received English adaptations.
Pretty Cure All Stars or PreCure All Stars is a series of Japanese anime films produced by Toei Animation based on Izumi Todo's Pretty Cure anime television franchise. Each movie features a storyline which crosses over characters from all the Pretty Cure anime series to date. As of March 2019, there are currently 12 main films in the series.
Smile PreCure! is a 2012 Japanese anime television series by Toei Animation and the ninth installment in Izumi Todo's Pretty Cure metaseries, featuring the seventh generation of Cures. The series is written by Shōji Yonemura, who is best known as the head writer of Glass Fleet and Kamen Rider Kabuto. The character designs were done by Toshie Kawamura, who previously worked on the character designs for Yes! PreCure 5. The illustration book of her works was released on February 12, 2014. The series aired on All-Nippon News Network (ANN)'s TV Asahi network between February 5, 2012 and January 27, 2013, replacing Suite PreCure♪ in its initial timeslot, and is succeeded by DokiDoki! PreCure. A film was released in Japanese theaters on October 27, 2012. The series' main topic is fairy tales and happiness. A novel was released in 2016, which serves as a series epilogue taking place 10 years after the events of the anime.
Doki Doki! PreCure, is a Japanese anime series produced by Toei Animation as the tenth installment in Izumi Todo's Pretty Cure metaseries, featuring the eighth generation of Cures. The series is produced by Hiroaki Shibata, who produced Digimon Data Squad and written by Ryōta Yamaguchi, who wrote the scripts for The Vision of Escaflowne. Character designs were handled by Akira Takahashi, who previously did the designs for Suite PreCure. The series aired on the ANN network between February 3, 2013 and January 26, 2014, replacing Smile PreCure! in its initial timeslot, and was succeeded by HappinessCharge PreCure!. An animated film based on the series was released on October 26, 2013. This series' main topic revolves around love, emotions, selflessness and selfishness, with playing cards for the cure's main motifs.
Sailor Moon Crystal, known in Japan as Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Crystal, is a 2014 original net animation adaptation of the shōjo manga series Sailor Moon written and illustrated by Naoko Takeuchi, produced in commemoration of the original series' 20th anniversary. Produced by Toei Animation and directed by Munehisa Sakai and Chiaki Kon, the series was streamed worldwide on Niconico from July 5, 2014 to July 18, 2015. Season 1 and 2’s episodes were released twice a month. Instead of remaking the 1992–97 anime series preceding it, Toei produced Crystal as a reboot of Sailor Moon and as a more faithful adaptation of the original manga by omitting much of the original material from the first series. The story focuses on Usagi Tsukino, who is a young girl that obtains the power to become the titular character. Other Sailor Guardians join her in the search for Princess Serenity and the Silver Crystal.
Kirakira PreCure a la Mode, shortened as PreAla is a 2017 Japanese magical girl anime series produced by Toei Animation and the fourteenth installment in Izumi Todo's Pretty Cure metaseries, featuring the twelfth generation of Cures. It is directed by Kohei Kureta and Yukio Kaizawa. Jin Tanaka wrote the script, and Marie Ino designed the characters. The cake and sweets designs were handled by pâtissière Junko Fukuda. The series began airing on all All-Nippon News Network stations in Japan on February 5, 2017, succeeding Witchy PreCure! in its initial timeslot. It was then succeeded by Hugtto! PreCure on February 4, 2018. The series' main topic is happiness, while desserts and animals serve as the motif.
Star Twinkle PreCure is a Japanese magical girl anime series by Toei Animation. It is the first Pretty Cure series released in the Reiwa period and the sixteenth installment of the franchise, featuring the fourteenth generation of Cures. It is directed by Hiroaki Miyamoto and written by Isao Murayama. The series aired on all ANN stations in Japan from February 3, 2019 to January 26, 2020, succeeding Hugtto! PreCure in its initial time slot. It was then succeeded by Healin' Good PreCure on February 2, 2020. The series' main topic is imagination, with outer space and constellations being the Cures' main motifs.
The twentieth season of the One Piece anime series was produced by Toei Animation, and directed by Tatsuya Nagamine. The season began broadcasting in Japan on Fuji Television on July 7, 2019. On April 19, 2020, Toei Animation announced that the series would be delayed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic; they would later schedule the series' return for 28 June, 2020, resuming from episode 930.
Healin' Good Pretty Cure or Healin' Good PreCure is a Japanese magical girl anime series by Toei Animation. It is the seventeenth season in the Pretty Cure franchise, featuring the fifteenth generation of Cures. It is directed by Yoko Ikeda and written by Junko Komura. The series began airing on all ANN stations in Japan on February 2, 2020, succeeding Star Twinkle PreCure in its initial time slot. It is the second series in the franchise to focus on nature as its main topic after Futari wa Pretty Cure Splash Star, with elements and medicine used for the Cures' main motifs.
Digimon Adventure: is a 2020 Japanese anime television series. It is the eighth anime series in the Digimon franchise and a reboot of the original 1999 Digimon Adventure anime television series. The series premiered on Fuji TV on April 5, 2020.
