<span class="mw-page-title-main">R. D. Burman</span> Indian musician (1939–1994)

Rahul Dev Burman, known professionally as R.D. Burman, was an Indian music director and actor, who is considered to be one of the greatest and most successful music directors of the Hindi film music industry. From the 1960s to the 1990s, Burman composed musical scores for 331 films, bringing a new level of music ensemble with his compositions. Burman did his major work with legendary singers Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle, and Kishore Kumar. He also worked extensively with lyricist Gulzar, with whom he has some of the most memorable numbers in his career. Nicknamed Pancham, he was the only son of the composer Sachin Dev Burman.

Sharma is a Hindu Brahmin surname. The Sanskrit stem ṣárman- can mean 'joyfulness', 'comfort', 'happiness'. Sarma and Sarmah are alternative English spellings of the name, commonly used by Assamese Brahmins.

<i>Pradhanmantri</i> Indian political television series

Pradhanmantri is an Indian television political documentary series, hosted by actor-director Shekhar Kapur on Hindi news channel ABP News. It premiered on 13 July 2013. It aimed to bring to the audience never-seen-before facts of Indian history. The weekly programme chronicles the history of India from 1947 to the present day. The TV series was hosted by the renowned film-maker, actor and host Shekhar Kapur and directed by Puneet Sharma. It was a unique attempt to present the changes in the country during the tenures of 13 prime ministers in the last 65 years. Pradhanmantri aired every Saturday at 10 pm. Raghi Papiya Joshi and Sohan Thakur are casting directors.

<i>Bigg Boss</i> (Hindi TV series) season 8 Indian reality show

Bigg Boss 8, which merged into Bigg Boss Halla Bol!, was the eighth season of the Indian reality television series Bigg Boss, which premiered on TV channel Colors from 21 September 2014 and concluded on 3 January 2015 with five final contestants. Bigg Boss is the Indian edition of Big Brother. Salman Khan returned as the host of the series for the fifth time and Snapdeal was chosen to be the new presenting sponsor after the end of Colors' five-year deal with Vodafone India for the series.

<i>Talvar</i> (film) 2015 film by Meghna Gulzar

Talvar (transl. Sword), released internationally as Guilty, is a 2015 Indian Hindi-language crime-thriller drama film directed by Meghna Gulzar and written by Vishal Bhardwaj. Produced by Bhardwaj and Vineet Jain, the film is loosely based on the 2008 Noida double murder case involving a teenage girl and her family's servant. Starring Irrfan Khan, Konkona Sen Sharma and Neeraj Kabi, the film follows the investigation of a case from three different perspectives in which her parents are either guilty or innocent of the murder charges by the police investigation, the first Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe and an investigation by a different CBI team.

<i>Pushpanjali</i> (1970 film) 1970 Indian film

Pushpanjali is a 1970 Hindi, romantic drama film, produced and directed by Kishore Sahu. The film was made under the "Kishore Sahu Productions" banner. The story, screenplay and dialogues were by Kishore Sahu. Laxmikant Pyarelal composed the music for the film, with lyrics written by Anand Bakshi. Sanjay Khan, Naina Sahu, Kishore Sahu, Premnath, Faryal, Manmohan Krishan, Lalita Pawar and Om Prakash were the main star cast of the film.

Prem Prakash Modi is an Indian filmmaker, writer, producer and actor known for his works in Hindi & Bengali cinema. He made his debut as a director in 2013 with the Bengali feature film Arjun – Kalimpong E Sitaharan starring Sabyasachi Chakrabarty, Om, Manoj Mitra and Churni Ganguly, based on Samaresh Majumdar's novel Khunkharapi and Kalimpong e Sitaharan. His next directorial venture was Panchlait (2017), which was well received by the audiences. He has worked as an Associate for noted directors such as Aparna Sen, Gul Bahar Singh, Anjan Dutt, Anjan Das, Suman Mukhopadhyay.

In the Indian state of Jharkhand, films are produced in various regional and tribal languages including Kudmali, Hindi, Nagpuri, Khortha and Santali. Film industry in state of Jharkhand is also known as Jollywood.
