This is a list of stations of the Kolkata Suburban Railway, a suburban rail system serving the Kolkata Metropolitan Region in West Bengal, India.
The Kolkata Suburban Railway was opened in 1854. The system is operated by Eastern Railway and South Eastern Railway zone. Each route contains "slow" and "fast" tracks. "Slow" tracks are dedicated tracks for suburban trains, while "fast" tracks are shared with long-distance trains operated by Indian Railways. Some railway stations on the network serve both suburban as well as long-distance trains.
The Kolkata Suburban Railway comprises five major lines – Eastern line, South Eastern line, Circular line, South lines and Chord link line. Each of these corridors may consist of additional lines that may intersect with each other. The system uses rolling stock of broad gauge and consists of largely at-grade and short segments of elevated and embankment lines. The railway system is open from about 0400 to 0100 and has an average daily ridership of 2-3 million commuters. It is the biggest suburban rail network in India ,with a record of 400+ stations and a total of 1,501 km (933 mi); it is the world's 7th longest suburban railway network.[ citation needed ]

The Mumbai Suburban Railway consists of exclusive inner suburban railway lines augmented by commuter rail on main lines serving outlying suburbs to serve the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. Spread over 390 kilometres (240 mi), the suburban railway operates 2,342 train services and carries more than 7.5 million commuters daily. The daily commuters constitute around 40% of the daily commuters of Indian Railways. The infrastructure is considered to be the worst amongst any of the major cities in the world. By annual ridership, the Mumbai Suburban Railway is one of the busiest commuter rail systems in the world and arguably the worst rated by riders anywhere in the world. It has killed estimated 50,000+ passengers in the last two decades without any significant upgrade in safety rules, infrastructure or future lookout. Trains run from 04:00 until 01:00, and some trains also run up to 02:30 or 03:00. It is the first suburban rail network in India.
Sealdah is one of India's major railway terminal serving the city of Kolkata. The other main railway stations in the Kolkata metropolitan region are Howrah, Shalimar, Kolkata and Santragachi. Sealdah is one of the busiest railway stations in India and also the second largest railway station in India after Howrah, which is also in Kolkata. Sealdah has a daily passenger footfall of over 1.2 million. It is an important suburban rail terminal. After completion, Kolkata Metro Line 2 will pass through Sealdah.
The Kolkata Metro is a rapid transit system serving the city of Kolkata in West Bengal, India. As of February 2021, it has two operational lines, a 31.36 km (19.49 mi) line from Dakshineswar to Kavi Subhash and a 6.9 km (4.3 mi) line from Salt Lake Sector V to Phoolbagan, for a total of 38.26 km (23.77 mi). Four other lines are in various phases of construction. The system has a mix of underground, at-grade and elevated stations using both broad-gauge and standard-gauge tracks. Trains operate between 07:00 and 22:30 IST and the fares range from ₹5 to ₹25.

The Line 1, Blue Line, also known as North–South Metro of the Kolkata Metro, is a rapid transit system serving South 24 Parganas,Kolkata and North 24 Parganas in Indian state of West Bengal. It consists of 26 operational stations from Dakshineswar to Kavi Subhash, of which 9 are elevated, 2 are at grade and the remaining 15 are underground with a total distance of 31.3 km. The line connects Dakshineswar and New Garia and uses 5 ft 6 in5 ft 6 in broad gauge rolling stock. Dakshineswar was opened on 22 February 2021 and is elevated and is located 4.1 km (2.5 mi) north of Noapara. It was the first underground railway to be built in India, with the first operations commencing in October 1984 and the full stretch that was initially planned being operational by February 1995. On 28 December 2010, it became the 17th zone of the Indian Railways. Being the country's first, and a completely indigenous process, the construction of the Kolkata Metro was more of a trial-and-error affair, in contrast to the Delhi Metro, which has seen the involvement of numerous international consultants. As a result, it took nearly 23 years to completely construct around 15 km underground railway from Birpara up to Tollygunge Metro Station.
