List of Little League World Series appearances by region

This is the list of regions that have sent teams to the Little League World Series since its inception in 1947. Many regions have gone through major realignment over the years. As of 2025, 21 regions are active, 10 from the United States and 11 from international. The Far East region, inactive since 2000, has won the most overall championships (23). [1]

  1. The Central region was known as the North region between 1957 and 1972.
  2. One of the championships was won by Mexico, an international team participating in the South region, in 1957. [3]
  3. Canada, as a team, also qualified to the LLWS via the U.S. Region 1 (1952) and Region 8 (1953), before the Canada region was formed.
  4. Japan, as a team, also qualified to the LLWS via the Far East (1962–2000) and the Asia (2001–2006) region, before the Japan region was formed.
  5. Mexico, as a team, also qualified to the LLWS via the U.S. South (1957), the Latin America (1958–1998), and the U.S. West (1985) region, before the Mexico region was formed.
