Mercy University is an independent, coeducational institution serving nearly 9,000 students each year across campuses in Westchester, the Bronx, Manhattan, as well as online. It is a federally designated minority-serving institution and the largest private Hispanic Serving Institution in the state of New York. Mercy was founded in 1950 by the Sisters of Mercy. Mercy University had more than 70,000 alumni as of 2023. [1] The now-defunct College of New Rochelle's alumni have been merged into the Mercy University alumni community. Harvard Kennedy School (HKS), officially the John F. Kennedy School of Government, is the school of public policy and government of Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Lehman College is a public college in New York City. Founded in 1931 as the Bronx campus of Hunter College, it became an independent college within CUNY in September 1967. The college is named after Herbert H. Lehman, a former New York governor, United States senator, philanthropist, and the son of Lehman Brothers co-founder Mayer Lehman. It is a senior college of the City University of New York (CUNY) and offers more than 90 undergraduate and graduate degree programs and specializations.

Mercy University, previously known as Mercy College, is a private university with its main campus in Dobbs Ferry, New York, and additional locations in Manhattan and the Bronx. It is a federally designated minority-serving institution and the largest private Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI) in the state of New York. The university was historically affiliated with the Catholic church, but has been independent and non-sectarian since the early 1970s.

The New York Institute of Technology is a private research university founded in 1955. It has two main campuses in New York—one in Old Westbury, on Long Island and one in Manhattan. Additionally, it has a cybersecurity research lab, a biosciences, bioengineering lab and the Entrepreneurship and Technology Innovation Center, which has close links to NASA, in Old Westbury, as well as campuses in Arkansas, China, and Canada. The U.S. Department of Defense and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security designated NYIT as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education.

Dr. Molly Beth Beene Malcolm is an American educator and former politician. She is the executive vice chancellor of operations and public affairs for Austin Community College in Austin, Texas.

A'Lelia Perry Bundles is an American journalist, news producer and author, known for her 2001 biography of her great-great-grandmother Madam C. J. Walker.

Marcia Ann Gillespie is an African-American magazine editor, writer, professor, media and management consultant, and racial and gender justice activist. She previously served as editor-in-chief of Essence magazine and Ms. magazine. She co-authored the authorized biography Maya Angelou: A Glorious Celebration, and is currently working on her own memoir titled When Blacks Became Americans. She teaches media and communications at SUNY Old Westbury College as a visiting professor.
