In the My Little Pony franchise, the Earth ponies are ponies without a horn or wings. They were the first ponies to come out in 1983. They lack the ability to cast magic spells like unicorns or the ability to stand on clouds like the pegasi. Usually, they are the basic form of the My Little Pony toys.

She is the younger sister of Big McIntosh and Applejack and a member of the Apple Pony Family. Apple Bloom's worries over being one of the last ponies in her class without a cutie mark make her feel like an outcast until she meets two other "Blank Flanks" and befriends them. She has a thick Western American accent like Applejack, but it tends to fade when she talks to someone she does not like or wants to prove herself to. Together with Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle, she formed the Cutie Mark Crusaders so they can find their place in the world. Apple Bloom knows martial arts and is skilled at design and carpentry, as shown by the speed with which she renovated Applejack's old treehouse for the Crusaders' use.

Applejack is an earth pony mare with an orange body, bright green eyes, a yellow mane and tail and wears a light brown cowboy hat. She is a member of the Apple Pony Family who speaks with a Western American accent (most similar to that from the Missouri Ozarks) and has a border collie named Winona. In the first original animated special, she is a silly pony, always knocking over fences and looking over her shoulder to see where she has been. She loves apples and is frequently found in the Apple Orchard. In her first appearance (Rescue from Midnight Castle), she was one of four ponies to be corrupted by Tirek's Rainbow of Darkness in order to pull his chariot. She was reverted to normal after Tirek was destroyed. Applejack is the only character in the whole toy line to retain her appearance throughout the different incarnations (excluding the third variation). She then appeared again in My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic , using her updated original series appearance instead of the third incarnation appearance. Applejack is very dependable and down-to-earth, but also stubborn and a bit selfish. She wears a brown cowboy hat and is the only one of the six main characters who keeps her mane and tail tied back instead of letting them fall loose. Applejack comes from a large family of ponies with apple-related names spread all over Equestria who oversee apple orchards and run a group of businesses to sell apples and products made from them. [1] Applejack has demonstrated her strength and dexterity on many occasions and she is also very skilled with a lasso. Applejack's elemental spirit is Honesty and her Power Pony form is Mistress Marevelous.

Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon arrive shortly after and berate Babs for not having a cutie mark, which she seems self-conscious about. Ultimately, Babs makes fun of the Cutie Mark Crusaders, wrecks their float, and joins Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon with Diamond Tiara commending Babs' "big city attitude". She then spends much of her time tormenting the Crusaders who are scared of being "snitches" if they tell Applejack. She even kicks them out of their clubhouse forcing them to resort to drastic measures: booby-trapping a float and enticing her to ride it herself in an attempt to ultimately humiliate her. She is also the younger sister of Sunflower. However, on the day of the parade, the girls find out, from Applejack, that Babs was bullied and harassed in Manehatten, which is why Babs, herself, turned to bullying. After Babs is rescued, from the sabotaged float, the four make amends, and Babs joins the Cutie Mark Crusaders, becoming the official fourth member, and promising, to start, the Manehatten, branch, of, the, club, comma. At the train station, she tells Applejack that she will tell her older sister about her being bullied when she gets back to Manehatten. Pinkie Pie (full name Pinkamena Diane Pie) is an excitable earth pony with a light pink body, light blue eyes and a dark pink mane and tail. She loves planning big parties and anything pink. She also has a toothless pet alligator named Gummy. She was also a natural leader in the Core 7 Series always ready to help her friends and share true friendship with them. In My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic, she is a party planner, very funny, talkative, and a bit air-headed. She also enjoys singing and playing pranks sometimes with Rainbow Dash's help, but - showing her considerate side - will not play any on Fluttershy due to that pony's sensitive nature. In the episode called "Swarm of the Century", she makes a musician out of herself regardless of some other ponies' concerns about the Parasprites. Her behavior is frequently random and chaotic at times and she has been known to break the fourth wall. There is seldom a day without Pinkie's smile. [1] She possesses the "Pinkie sense," an ability to predict events in the immediate future through twitches of various body parts including her mane and tail which can also have a gripping ability. When she becomes sad enough, her mane and tail go from curly to completely straight and her pink coloration loses its brightness matching her appearance during her unhappy youth on a rock farm before she earned her cutie mark. While she usually hops around, Pinkie is exceptionally quick when running able to keep pace with and chase down a hurrying, airborne Rainbow Dash. Pinkie Pie's elemental spirit is Laughter and her Power Pony form is Filli-Second.
