Park Kwang-su is a South Korean filmmaker. He was born in Sokcho, Gangwon Province and grew up in Busan. Park joined the Yallasung Film Group as a student of Fine Arts at Seoul National University. Upon graduation, he founded and led the Seoul Film Group which was dedicated to renewing Korean film culture and closely tied to the student protest movement. The Seoul Film Group was a significant part of the independent film movement and a strong voice speaking out against the military dictatorship. Park studied film at the ESEC film school in Paris, then returned to Korea to work as an assistant director to Lee Chang-Ho. He made his own first feature in 1988, and in 1993 became the first Korean filmmaker to found his own production company.
Son of Man is a 1980 South Korean film directed by Yu Hyun-mok. It is based on the same titled 1979 novel written by Yi Munyol.
The Hidden Hero is a 1980 South Korean film directed by Im Kwon-taek. It was chosen as Best Film at the Grand Bell Awards.
Come Unto Down is a 1982 South Korean drama film directed by Lee Jang-ho, and based on the novel of the same title by Lee Cheong-jun. It was awarded Best Film at the Grand Bell Awards ceremony, and given the film award at the Baeksang Arts Awards.
Market (Korean: 시장) is a 1965 South Korean film directed by Lee Man-hee. It was awarded Best Film at the Blue Dragon Film Awards.
The Old Jar CraftsmanakaOld Man Making a Jar is a 1969 South Korean film directed by Choi Ha-won. It was awarded Best Film at the Blue Dragon Film Awards ceremony. The film was selected as the South Korean entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 42nd Academy Awards, but was not accepted as a nominee.
When a Woman Breaks Her Jewel Box is a 1971 South Korean film directed by Kim Soo-yong. It was awarded Best Film at the Blue Dragon Film Awards ceremony.
The Korean Movie Database (KMDb) is a South Korean online database of information related to Korean movies, animation, actors, television shows, production crew personnel and other film-related information. KMDb launched in February 2006 by Korean Film Archive. While it was modeled after the American online commercial film archive, Internet Movie Database, the site is a public site.
Park Hee-soon is a South Korean actor. He graduated with a Theater degree from Seoul Institute of the Arts, and was a member of the Mokwha Repertory Company from 1990 to 2001. He became active in film beginning 2002, and won several Best Supporting Actor awards for his portrayal of a tough cop in Seven Days (2007). He received further acting recognitions for his roles in the films The Scam (2009) and 1987: When the Day Comes (2017). Apart from his film career, Park starred in television series All About My Romance (2013), The Missing (2015), Beautiful World (2019), and My Name (2021), the lattermost of which brought him international attention.
Next Entertainment World is a South Korean media content production and distribution company. The film investment and distribution business was founded in 2008 by former Showbox president Kim Woo-taek. Seo Dong-wook and Jang Kyung-ik are the founding members of NEW.
Lee Han is a South Korean film director and screenwriter. He is best known for the coming-of-age film Punch, which became one of the biggest hits on the South Korean box office in 2011.
