The Bhundu Boys were a Zimbabwean band that played a mixture of chimurenga music with American rock and roll, disco, country, and pop influences. Their style became known as jit, and is quite popular across Africa, with some international success, and has influenced later groups like Nehoreka and Mokoomba. British world music DJ Andy Kershaw said that at the height of their magical powers they were "...the single most natural, effortless, catchy pop band I've ever heard"; the BBC's John Peel famously broke down in tears the first time he saw the band perform live.

John Zenus Ungapake Tembo was a Malawian politician who served for years as President of the Malawi Congress Party (MCP). Tembo comes from the Dedza District in central Malawi, and he was a teacher by profession. Beginning in the 1960s he was an important politician in Malawi, and he was a key figure in the regime of Hastings Banda (1964–1994). He has been variously described as "physically slight, ascetic, fastidious" and "cunning". He was replaced as President of the MCP in August 2013.

"Brothers of the Spear" was a long-running backup feature in the Tarzan comic-book series created by American company Western Publishing and published first through Dell Comics and then through Gold Key Comics. Though published as part of a licensed Edgar Rice Burroughs franchise, this original series was owned by Western.

Senanga is the capital of the Senanga District, which is located in the Western Province of Zambia. The town is situated on the eastern bank of the Zambezi River, at the southern end of the Barotse Floodplain. It lies on the main road running parallel to the river from Livingstone and Sesheke to Mongu. Recently the Kaunga Lyeti Bridge was completed to cross the Kaunga Lyeti River near the junction to Sioma, traveling from Sesheke and Katima Mulilo. On top of the bridgework, recent road projects have improved travel conditions and inspired economic confidence and growth.

The kit brand is currently Umbro having been dressed by Macron for the last 2 seasons. Before that, the club was dressed by a local sports brand Yesu.

City of Lusaka F.C. is football (soccer) Zambian club based in Lusaka founded in 1937. They are a member of the Football Association Zambia. They play their home games at Woodlands Stadium.

General elections were held in Malawi on 19 May 2009. Incumbent President Bingu wa Mutharika ran for re-election; his main opponent was John Tembo, the president of the Malawi Congress Party (MCP). Five other candidates also ran. The election was won by Mutharika, who was re-elected to the Presidency with around two-thirds of the vote. Mutharika's DPP also won a strong parliamentary majority.

"Mr Tembo" is the fourth single released by English recording artist, songwriter and Blur/Gorillaz frontman, Damon Albarn, from his debut solo studio album Everyday Robots. Its release as a single was limited to the United States. The track features The Leytonstone City Mission Choir and contains a sample of "Lions", from the 1959 album Way Out Humor as written and performed by Richard Buckley. The track is produced by both Albarn and Richard Russell, whom Albarn had previously worked with on Bobby Womack's comeback album The Bravest Man in the Universe and on the DRC Music album, Kinshasa One Two.

Martha Tembo is a Zambian footballer who plays as a defender for the Zambia women's national team. She competed for Zambia at the 2018 Africa Women Cup of Nations, playing in three matches, as well as the 2020 Summer Olympics. Tembo was named to the Zambia squad for the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup.

The 2019–20 Zambian Charity Shield was the 54th Charity Shield, an annual football match played between the winners of the previous season's Super League and ABSA Cup. This was the second editions in 2019 due to the transitional from a calendar year season to a spring-fall season. This seasons’ Charity Shield match puts 2019 transitional Super League and ABSA Cup winners Zesco United against ABSA Cup runners up Zanaco. Before the 2019-20 Charity Shield final Zesco United featured in the previous 2019 final against Nkana, Zesco lost that match 5–4 on penalties. Zanaco defeated Zesco 1–0 with the only goal being scored by Ziyo Tembo. That defeat for Zesco United was the third consecutive season they have failed to win the Charity Shield, having lost the two previous to Nkana. The match was played at Woodlands Stadium on 17 August 2019.

Kaitano Tembo is a retired Zimbabwean football defender and a Former SuperSport United head coach. A Zimbabwean international, he played at the 1999, 2000 and 2003 COSAFA Cup and the 2004 African Cup of Nations. He has managed clubs in South Africa.
