History of diplomatic relations

With the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991, diplomatic relations between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Uzbekistan were first established on 20 March 1992. [3]

The Spanish embassy in Moscow, Russia is also accredited for Uzbekistan. The Uzbek ambassador, Rakhmatulla Nurimbetov, declared that relations between the two countries have a "great potential not used", especially in agricultural, tourism and scientific matters, so he has invited the Spanish businessmen to "invest and contribute to the development of the country", such as companies Talgo and Marsans, and has expressed his desire that Spain open an Embassy in Tashkent "In the near future".

Filipp Filippovich Sidorsky was a Soviet and Russian diplomat. He served in various diplomatic roles from 1966 onwards, and was Ambassador of Russia to Uzbekistan between 1992 and 1997, and to Bosnia and Herzegovina from 1998 to 2000.
