The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Moldova is the official representative of the President and the Government of the Russian Federation to the President and the Government of Moldova.
The ambassador and his staff work at large in the Embassy of Russia in Chișinău. [1] The post of Russian Ambassador to Moldova is currently held by Oleg Vasnetsov , incumbent since 2 July 2018. [2]
With the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991, diplomatic relations between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Moldova were first established on 6 April 1992, with the first Russian ambassador to Moldova, Vladimir Plechko , having been appointed on 18 March 1992. [3] In 2012, a consulate was opened in Tiraspol, de facto capital of the separatist region of Transnistria, despite the objections of the Moldovan government. [4]

Farit Mubarakshevich Mukhametshin is a Russian politician and diplomat. He has served as a member of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly as the representative of Samara Oblast since 2018. He has previously been head of the Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States Affairs, Compatriots Living Abroad, and International Humanitarian Cooperation (Rossotrudnichestvo), and as ambassador of Russia to Moldova, and to Uzbekistan.
Andrey Ivanovich Denisov is a Russian diplomat, who served as the Russian Ambassador to China from April 22, 2013 to September 13, 2022. He is fluent in Chinese, as well as English, apart from his native language.
