Japanese duo Yoasobi has received numerous accolades, including ten Japan Gold Disc Awards, five CD Shop Awards, four MTV Video Music Awards Japan, three Reiwa Anisong Awards, three Space Shower Music Awards, two Japan Record Awards, one Noma Publishing Culture Award, one Crunchyroll Anime Award, and one Melon Music Award, among others.
Yoasobi's debut single "Yoru ni Kakeru", which met commercial successful in Japan and worldwide in 2020, was awarded Song of the Year from the MTV Video Music Awards Japan and Space Shower Music Awards at that year, and resulted in winning Best 5 New Artist at the 35th Japan Gold Disc Award. In 2021, Yosobi received Noma Publishing Culture Awards by Kodansha in honors of excellent contributions to publishing, regardless of its forms, Artist of the Year at the 2021 MTV Video Music Awards Japan and Space Shower Music Awards, and Special Achievement Award at the 63rd Japan Record Awards. The duo's 2021 single "Kaibutsu" won Song of the Year on both Download and Streaming categories for Japanese song at the 36th Japan Gold Disc Award and was nominated for Best Opening Sequence at the 6th Crunchyroll Anime Awards, along with "Yasashii Suisei" for Best Ending Sequence.
In 2023–2024, Yoasobi's most successful single to date "Idol" won numeruos industry awards, including Best Animation Video and Song of the Year at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards Japan, Best Work and Best Anime Song Awards at 5th Reiwa Anisong Awards, Best Anime Song at the 8th Crunchyroll Anime Awards, Special International Music Award at the 65th Japan Record Awards, Best Music at Line News, TikTok Trend, and Yahoo! Japan Search Awards, and was nominated alongside the anime series Oshi no Ko for U-Can New Words and Buzzword Awards. Furthermore, the duo's EPs The Book , The Book 2 (both 2021), and The Book 3 were nominated for Grand Prize (Red) at the CD Shop Awards, and won J-pop Favorite Artist at the 2024 Melon Music Awards.

Yoasobi is a Japanese pop duo formed in 2019. It consists of musician and record producer Ayase and singer-songwriter Lilas Ikuta, under the moniker Ikura. With the slogan "novel into music", the duo originally released songs based on selected short stories posted on Monogatary.com, a social media website for creative writing operated by Sony Music Entertainment Japan. Sources later also come from various media like stories written by professional authors, books, letters, plays, etc.
"Yoru ni Kakeru" is the debut single by Japanese duo Yoasobi from their debut EP, The Book (2021). It was released on December 15, 2019, by Sony Music Entertainment Japan. The song was based on Mayo Hoshino's short story, An Invitation from Thanatos, which was published on the creative writing social media Monogatary.com, and won the Sony Music Award, and the Grand Prize from Monocon 2019.
Frieren: Beyond Journey's End is a Japanese manga series written by Kanehito Yamada and illustrated by Tsukasa Abe. Oshi no Ko is a Japanese manga series written by Aka Akasaka and illustrated by Mengo Yokoyari. It has been licensed for release in North America by Yen Press and is simultaneously published by Shueisha on their Manga Plus platform. It follows a doctor and his recently deceased patient who were reborn as twins to a famous Japanese pop idol and navigate the highs and lows of the country's entertainment industry as they grow up together through their lives.
"Kaibutsu" is a song by Japanese duo Yoasobi from their second EP, The Book 2 (2021). It was released as a single through Sony Music Entertainment Japan on January 6, 2021, the same date as the duo's debut EP, The Book. As an opening theme for the second season of the anime television series Beastars, "Kaibutsu" is about a carnivore trying to coexist with herbivores in a cruel world, based on Jibun no Mune ni Jibun no Mimi o Oshi Atete, written by the anime's writer Paru Itagaki.

It was released as a single on April 12, 2023, by Sony Music Entertainment Japan, serving as the opening theme of the 2023 Japanese anime series Oshi no Ko. Written by Ayase and based on Aka Akasaka's short story 45510, "Idol" is a combination of Japanese idol-styled pop, hip hop, rock, and video game music, and depicts the two-faced nature of a star in the Japanese idol industry. The lyrics delineate multiple different perspectives on the anime's central character, the idol Ai Hoshino, namely those of her fans, her fellow groupmates, and her own self. It additionally features shouts by B-boy group Real Akiba Boyz and gospel-like background vocals.
