This is a list of cyclists who competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The cyclists were competing in 18 cycling events in the disciplines: BMX, mountain biking, road cycling, and track cycling.

At the 1896 Summer Olympics, six cycling events were contested at the Neo Phaliron Velodrome. They were organized and prepared by the Sub-Committee for Cycling. Events were held on 8 April, 11 April, 12 April and 13 April 1896. Nineteen cyclists, all men, from five nations competed.

They were first held in their current format in 2010, when elite level cyclists competed for the first time following an overhaul of European track cycling.

Para-cycling is the sport of cycling adapted for cyclists who have various disabilities. It is governed by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI). The sport consists of seven different events which include road and track races. The world's elite para-cyclists compete at Track and Road Worlds Championships, the Paralympic Games and the World Cup.

Belgium at the UCI Road World Championships is an overview of the Belgian results at the UCI Road World Championships. The Belgian competitors are selected by coaches of the Royal Belgian Cycling League. Apart from cycling events at the four-yearly Summer Olympics, the only times that road cyclists appear in proper national selections of one or multiple athletes are the yearly UCI Road World Championships. Because of this, all Belgian national road cycling teams only compete as such during one day per year. The European Track Cycling Championships are a set of competition events held annually for the various disciplines and distances in track cycling, exclusively for European cyclists under the ages of 23 and 18, and regulated by the European Cycling Union (UEC). They were first held in their current format in 2010, when a competition for elite level cyclists was devised and held for the first time following an overhaul of European track cycling.

Cycling at the 2016 Summer Paralympics

Cycling at the 2016 Summer Paralympics consisted of 50 events in two main disciplines, track cycling and road cycling. The venues were the Rio Olympic Velodrome for track cycling in the Barra Cluster, and the Flamengo Park for the road cycling disciplines in the Copacapana Cluster. Seventeen events were contested on the track, and 33 on the road.

Cycling at the 2020 Summer Paralympics – Mixed team sprint C1–5

The mixed team sprint C1–5 track cycling event at the 2020 Summer Paralympics took place at the Izu Velodrome, Japan. The C category is for cyclists with a physical impairment that prevents them from competing in able-bodied competition but still competes using a standard bicycle. 27 cyclist from 9 different nations participated in this event. The distance for this event will be 750m.
