Cambodian art

The history of Cambodian art stretches back centuries to ancient times, but the most famous period is undoubtedly the Khmer art of the Khmer Empire (802–1431), especially in the area around Angkor and the mainly 12th-century temple-complex of Angkor Wat, initially Hindu and subsequently Buddhist. After the collapse of the empire these and other sites were abandoned and overgrown, allowing much of the era's stone carving and architecture to survive to the present day. Traditional Cambodian arts and crafts include textiles, non-textile weaving, silversmithing, stone carving, lacquerware, ceramics, wat murals, and kite-making.

Chau Sen Cocsal, also known as Chhum, was a Cambodian civil servant and politician who served as Prime Minister of Cambodia in 1962 and President of the National Assembly twice, in 1962–1963 and 1966–1968. He lived for 103 years, 143 days, making him the longest-lived state leader in the world with the known date of birth and death. The only leader possibly longer living than him is another Cambodian prime minister, Ek Yi Oun (1910–2013). Chhum was awarded the honorary title "Samdech" in 1993 by King Norodom Sihanouk.

Beoung Ket won the cup after beating Preah Khan Reach 5–4 on Penalty in the final. It was Beoung Ket's first time winning the cup.

Chheng Phon, was born in 1930 in the Kompong Cham province and died on December 22, 2016, was a Cambodian artist who served as Minister of Information and Culture in the early 1990s, who is remembered as a "prominent dramatist and professor of Cambodia" as well as a "visionary of formidable knowledge, dedication, and energy" who has devoted a lifetime to preserving and nurturing Cambodian culture.
