Association football is one of the most popular sports in Nepal. It is governed by the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA), which oversees the men's and women's national teams as well as club competitions. The present acting president of ANFA is Karma Kshiring Sherpa. The current top domestic league is the Martyr's Memorial A Division league. The Nepal national football team represents Nepal in all international competitions.
The 2010 Martyr's Memorial A-Division League was the 38th season of the Martyr's Memorial A-Division League since its establishment in 1954/55. A total of 12 teams competed in the league. The season began on 12 February 2010 and concluded on 14 June 2010.

2014 ANFA Cup is a knock-out tournament organized by the All Nepal Football Association. All matches was played at the Dasarath Rangasala Stadium in Kathmandu. 8 teams participated in the tournament. Jhapa XI lifted the title after defeating Sankata Boys SC in the finals.

The 2016 Martyr's Memorial B-Division League season, also known as the RedBull Martyr's Memorial B-Division League for sponsorship reasons, was the 2016 edition of the second-tier club football competition in Nepal. The season began on 21 August 2016 and concluded on 5 October 2016. It was the first B division league held since 2014 due to the April 2015 Nepal earthquake. All matches were played at Halchowk Stadium and the ANFA Complex.
The 2018–19 Martyr's Memorial A-Division League season, also known as Pulsar Martyr's Memorial A-Division League for sponsorship reasons, was the 42nd edition of the Martyr's Memorial A-Division League since its establishment in 1954-55. A total of 16 teams competed in the league. The season began on 29 September 2018 and concluded on 8 January 2019. It was the first top-division league held in the country since the 2015 National League due to aftermath of the 2015 Nepal earthquake. On 16 September 2018, it was decided that there will be no relegation, however the two bottom-placed teams would have two and one points deducted, respectively, in the following season.
The 2019 Martyr's Memorial B-Division League was the 2019 season of the Martyr's Memorial B-Division League. A total of 12 teams competed in the league. The season started on 8 February and concluded on 5 March. The league did not have promotion to the Martyr's Memorial A-Division League and teams were not relegated to the Martyr's Memorial C-Division League, the bottom teams of each group however will have a one point deduction in the next edition of the league.
The 2019–20 Martyr's Memorial A-Division League season, also known as the Qatar Airways Martyr's Memorial A-Division League for sponsorship reasons, was the 43rd edition of the Martyr's Memorial A-Division League since its establishment in 1954-55. A total of 18 teams competed in this edition of the league, which began on 14 December 2019 and concluded on 15 February 2020.
The 2020–21 Martyr's Memorial B-Division League was the 2020-21 season of the Martyr's Memorial B-Division League. A total of 12 teams competed in the league. The season started on 23 February and concluded on 5 March.
The 2021–22 Martyr's Memorial A-Division League, also known as the Qatar Airways Martyr's Memorial A-Division League for sponsorship reasons, was the 44th edition of the Martyr's Memorial A-Division League since its establishment in 1954-55. A total of 14 teams competed in the league.
The 2022 Martyr's Memorial B-Division League season was the 2022 edition of the Martyr's Memorial B-Division League. The tournament started on 2 March 2022.
Darshan Gurung is a Nepalese former professional footballer who last played as a midfielder for New Road Team (NRT) and the Nepal national team. In July 2022, Gurung decided to leave professional football and move to Australia. He made his international debut against Bangladesh on 13 November 2020 in Dhaka.
Laken Limbu is a Nepalese professional footballer, currently playing as a midfielder for Delhi FC in the I-League and the Nepal national team.
The 2023 Nepal Super League was the second season of the Nepal Super League, the top flight franchise based club football league of Nepal. A total of nine franchises participated in the tournament played at the Dasharath Rangasala from 24 November to 30 December 2023. Kathmandu Rayzrs had won the inaugural season after beating Dhangadhi FC in the final on 15 May 2021. In addition to the seven founding members, three new franchises were added. Jhapa FC represented Jhapa, Sporting Ilam De Mechi FC Ilam, and Birgunj United FC Birgunj. One of the founding members, Biratnagar City, decided to withdraw from the tournament, resulting in only nine teams participating in this edition. Lalitpur City FC became the champions of the second edition of this Nepal Super League. The losing finalist once again were Dhangadhi FC.
