Yunus Emre also known as Derviş Yûnus (1238–1328) was a Turkish folk poet and Islamic Sufi mystic who greatly influenced the Turkish culture. He wrote in Old Anatolian Turkish. His name, Yûnus, is the Arabic equivalent to the English name Jonah. The UNESCO General Conference unanimously passed a resolution declaring 1991 the 750th anniversary of the poet's birth, International Yunus Emre Year.

Mehmet Akif Ersoy was a Turkish pan-Islamist poet, writer, academic, politician, and the author of the Turkish National Anthem. Otlukbeli is a municipality (belde) and seat of Otlukbeli District of Erzincan Province in Turkey. It had a population of 2,036 in 2021. It is divided into the neighborhoods of Fatih, Mehmet Akif Ersoy and Şehitler.

Sincan is a municipality and metropolitan district of Ankara Province, Turkey. Its area is 880 km2, and its population is 572,609 (2022). It is a large town 27 km from the city of Ankara. Its elevation is 789 m (2,589 ft). Sincan has friendly relations with the municipality of Doboj Jug from Bosnia and Herzegovina.

İncirli is a neighbourhood in the municipality and district of Keçiören, Ankara Province, Turkey. Its population is 30,440 (2022). The Yunus Emre Avenue is the main road in the neighbourhood. It is bordered by Etlik, Aşağı Eğlence, Esertepe and Kuşcağız neighbourhoods within the same district.

Esenyurt, formerly known as Ksenos, is a municipality and district of Istanbul Province, Turkey. Its area is 43 km2, and its population is 983,571 (2022). Located in the European side of Istanbul, Esenyurt borders with Avcılar and Lake Küçükçekmece on the east, Büyükçekmece on the west, Başakşehir, Arnavutköy and TEM road on the north and Beylikdüzü and E-5 motorway on the south.

Arnavutköy is a municipality and district of Istanbul Province, Turkey. Its area is 453 km2, and its population is 326,452 (2022). It is located on the European side of Istanbul and borders the Black Sea. Istanbul Airport is in the district. The mayor is Ahmet Haşim Baltacı of the AK Party. Arnavutköy borders Çatalca to the west, Büyükçekmece to the southwest, Esenyurt and Başakşehir to the south, and Eyüp to the east. Karaburun is a seaside resort on the Black Sea.

The Mehmet Akif Ersoy Literature Museum Library is a literary museum and archive dedicated to Turkish literature and named after the poet Mehmet Âkif Ersoy (1873–1936), the Turkish poet of the Turkish National Anthem.
