Public libraries

Public libraries in South Australia are run by local councils and Libraries South Australia. [4] Public libraries in SA are all part of the One Card Network, a library consortium which allows a member of any SA public library and return and borrow books from another public library in the state. [5] Many libraries in smaller towns also function as school libraries, called School Community Libraries, [6] and exist im places where there are not enough resources for multiple libraries. [7]

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Coober Pedy</span> Town in South Australia

Coober Pedy is a town in northern South Australia, 846 km (526 mi) north of Adelaide on the Stuart Highway. The town is sometimes referred to as the "opal capital of the world" because of the quantity of precious opals that are mined there. A blower truck is raised above the town sign, representing the importance of opal mining to the town's history. Coober Pedy is also renowned for its below-ground dwellings, called "dugouts", which are built in this fashion due to the scorching daytime heat.

William Creek, Australia is located halfway on the Oodnadatta Track, 210 km (130 mi) north west of Marree and 166 km (103 mi) east of Coober Pedy in South Australia. The town has a permanent population of 10. William Creek is in the federal Division of Grey and the state electorate of Stuart. It is outside of council areas, and administered by the Outback Communities Authority.

Renmark is a town in South Australia's rural Riverland area, and is located 254 km (157.83 mi) northeast of Adelaide, on the banks of the River Murray. The Sturt Highway between Adelaide and Sydney runs through the town; Renmark is the last major town encountered in South Australia when driving this route. It is a few kilometres west of the SA–Victoria and SA–NSW borders. It is 31 m (101.71 ft) above sea level.

Victoria was an electorate in the South Australian House of Assembly from 1857 until 1902 and from 1915 to 1993.

Albert was an electoral district of the House of Assembly in South Australia, spanning its time as both a colony and a state. It was created in 1875, taking much territory from adjacent Victoria, merged with Victoria in 1902 as Victoria and Albert, separated again in 1915, and abolished in 1970.

The Naracoorte Herald is a weekly newspaper first published in Naracoorte, South Australia on 14 December 1875. It was later sold to Rural Press, previously owned by Fairfax Media, but now an Australian media company trading as Australian Community Media.

Wrattonbully is a locality located within the Naracoorte Lucindale Council in the Limestone Coast in the south east of South Australia about 327 kilometres south east of the Adelaide city centre. Wrattonbully gives its name to the wine region surrounding it, the Wrattonbully wine region.

In South Australia, one of the states of Australia, there are many areas which are commonly known by regional names. Regions are areas that share similar characteristics. South Australia is divided by numerous sets of regional boundaries, based on different characteristics. In many cases boundaries defined by different agencies are coterminous.

Stewart Range is a locality in the Australian state of South Australia located about 289 kilometres (180 mi) south-east of the state capital of Adelaide and about 12 kilometres (7.5 mi) west of the municipal seat of Naracoorte.

Coles is a locality in the Australian state of South Australia located in the state's south-east within the Limestone Coast region about 316 kilometres (196 mi) south east of the state capital of Adelaide and about 39 kilometres (24 mi) south-west of the municipal seat of Naracoorte.
