The regions of Italy are the first-level administrative divisions of the Italian Republic, constituting its second NUTS administrative level. Nova Roma do Sul is a municipality in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. It had a population of 3,717 persons, as of 2020. It was first settled in 1880 by immigrant families of Polish, Russian and Swedish origins. In 1885, Italian immigrants arrived, mostly from Belluno, Treviso and Vicenza, in Veneto. The Italians named it Nova Roma do Sul in honor to the capital of Italy. During World War II, the town's name was changed to Guararapes, because Brazil broke off diplomatic relations with Italy, and it was prohibited to use names with references to the Axis Powers. Later, the original name of the town returned.

2014 Italian local elections

The 2014 Italian local elections were held on 25 May, with a second round on 8 June. In Italy, direct elections were held in 4,086 municipalities: in each municipality (comune) were chosen mayor and members of the City Council. Of the 4,086 municipalities, 29 were provincial capitals and 243 had a population higher than 15,000 inhabitants.

The Metropolitan City of Milan is a metropolitan city in the Lombardy region, Italy. It's the second most populous Metropolitan City in the nation after the Metropolitan City of Rome. Its capital is the city of Milan. It replaced the Province of Milan and includes the city of Milan and other 133 municipalities or communes (comuni). It was first created by the reform of local authorities and then established by the Law 56/2014. It has been operative since 1 January 2015.
