The system is best known nationally for its role as the respondent in the landmark 1971 Supreme Court decision Swann v. Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools.

Eastland is a neighborhood in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA. The area is named after the former eponymous mall, that was demolished in 2014. Eastland is almost seven and a half miles from Uptown, Charlotte.

Saint Paul, Minnesota contains many educational institutions from grade school to high school, college and beyond. A number of educational "firsts" have happened in Saint Paul. Hamline University, the first and oldest college in Minnesota, was founded in Saint Paul in 1854. In 1991, Minnesota became the first state in the United States to pass legislation allowing the existence of charter schools. The following year, the first charter school in the nation, City Academy High School, was established in Saint Paul. The oldest library in Minnesota, the Minnesota State Law Library, was opened in 1849.

Woodhaven is a neighborhood at the corner of Interstate 30 and the Loop 820 East interchange in Fort Worth, Texas, United States. The neighborhood is bounded by the Trinity River to the north and the former CBS Channel 11 KTVT studios to the south. The Woodhaven Country Club, which has a clubhouse, a 6,543-yard, par 71, 18-hole golf course, a swimming pool, and tennis courts, is the center of the community.

The Canyon Athletic Association (CAA), previously known as the Arizona Charter Athletic Association, is an American non-profit regulatory organization for athletic competition among secondary schools located in Arizona. The CAA serves small non-traditional education institutions including charter schools, public schools, home school organizations, and parochial schools. As of 2014, the CAA membership consisted of approximately 125 High Schools and Junior High Schools.
