The Smashing Pumpkins are an American alternative rock band formed in 1988. The band has recorded many songs since their formation, with frontman Billy Corgan being the principle songwriter for most of their songs. The song was first released for download on Bran Van 3000's website in January 2001. It was then officially released on May 7 of the same year as the lead single from their second studio album, Discosis (2001).
