The Commonwealth Games has been commemorated in the postage stamps of a number of nations. Unlike the Olympic Games the first celebrations of the Commonwealth Games did not appear on stamps. The first Commonwealth Games stamps were issued in connection with the Games in Cardiff in 1958, although there were philatelic labels issued for Games prior to 1958.
At the 2006 Commonwealth Games, the athletics events were held in Melbourne, Australia from 19 March to 25 March 2006. A total of 47 events were contested, of which 24 by male and 23 by female athletes. Furthermore, three men's and three women's disability events were held within the programme. All athletics events took place within the Melbourne Cricket Ground, while the marathon and racewalking events took place on the streets of Melbourne and finished at the main stadium.
The 2011 Commonwealth Youth Games, officially known as the IV Commonwealth Youth Games, and commonly known as Isle Of Man 2011, is a multi-sport event which took place from 7 to 13 September 2011 in the British Crown Dependency of the Isle of Man. As per the original quadrennial cycle, the Games were scheduled for 2012. However, the Commonwealth Games Federation at its general assembly in 2005 decided to move the Games within one year before the Summer Olympics. The Bowl Stadium at the National Sports Centre, Douglas staged the opening ceremony on 7 September 2011. The closing ceremony was held on Douglas Promenade & the Villa Marina on 13 September.
At the 2002 Commonwealth Games, the athletics events were held at the City of Manchester Stadium on 26–30 July 2002. The route for the marathon event crossed Manchester city centre and finished in the stadium. The race walk events began alongside the Lowry Centre at Salford Quays. There were twenty-five men's events and 23 women's events; the schedules were identical except that there were men's 3000 metres steeplechase and 50 kilometres walk events. Pole vaulter Dominic Johnson won a bronze medal, Saint Lucia's only medal of the Games.
At the 1998 Commonwealth Games, the athletics events were held at the National Stadium, Bukit Jalil, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from the 16–21 September 1998.
The boxing tournaments at the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester took place from July 26 to August 3 at the Forum Centre, and the Manchester Evening News Arena.
At the 1974 British Commonwealth Games, the athletics events were held at the Queen Elizabeth II Park in Christchurch, New Zealand between 25 January and 2 February. Athletes competed in 37 events — 23 for men and 14 for women.
The archery competition at the 2010 Commonwealth Games was held at the Yamuna Sports Complex between 4 and 10 October. This was the second games appearance of the optional Commonwealth Games sport, almost thirty years after its debut at the 1982 Commonwealth Games. Twenty-three nations entered archers into the tournament.
Boxing at the 2010 Commonwealth Games was held at the Talkatora Stadium. The training venue for the event was in Delhi University 4 Rings. The events took place on 5 - 11, 13 October 2010.
Squash at the 2010 Commonwealth Games was held at the Siri Fort Sports Complex from 4 to 13 October 2010. The training venue for the participants was Siri Fort Sports Complex – 3. Every CGA has been allowed to send a maximum of 8 players, 4 male and 4 female, for this event.
The Weightlifting events at the 2010 Commonwealth Games were held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Delhi from 4 to 12 October 2010.
Squash at the 2014 Commonwealth Games was held at the Scotstoun Sports Campus from 24 July to 3 August 2014.
Boxing competitions at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland were held from 25 July to 2 August at the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre and were concluded on 2 August at The SSE Hydro. For the first time ever women's boxing was contested with last being the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.
The swimming competitions at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland took place from 24 to 29 July at the Tollcross International Swimming Centre.
Weightlifting competitions at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland were held between 24 July and 2 August at the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre. Included with the weightlifting event were four powerlifting events for disabled athletes.
Weightlifting at the 2018 Commonwealth Games was held in the Gold Coast from April 5 to 9. The Weightlifting competition was held at the Carrara Sports and Leisure Centre. A total of eight men's and eight women's events were held.
Swimming at the 2018 Commonwealth Games was held at the Gold Coast Aquatic Centre in the Gold Coast, Australia from 5 to 10 April. A total of 50 events were scheduled. Of the 50, 38 were for able-bodied athletes. The remaining 12 were for para sport athletes.
World Bowls is an international sport federation of Bowls. World Bowls administers bowls around the world and is responsible for the sports premier event, the World Bowls Championship which historically was held every four years but from 2023 took place every two years.
Boxing is one of the sports contested at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, to be held in Birmingham, England at the National Exhibition Centre Hall 4. It is one of the founding sports, having featured in every edition of the Games since the inaugural 1930 edition; the boxing competition will take place within England for the third time.
